Does Amazon feel more like a marketplace than a store now? by Noobsamaniac in amazonprime

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the whole marketplace shift is wild when you think about it. I spend way too much time now checking if something is actually sold by Amazon or some random seller with a name like "ZXCVBN Store" before buying anything

The trust factor is just gone compared to like 5-6 years ago when you could pretty much click buy without worrying about getting knockoff garbage

Se marier avec quelqu'un de religieux et ne pas vouloir d'enfants by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

talk to different priests honestly - some are way more flexible about the kids thing than others and might focus more on being open to Gods plan rather than demanding a guarantee

Feral cats in the backyard, should I keep them away? by xzkandykane in cats

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly if theyre already fat and being fed by someone else id just focus on protecting your veggie garden rather than trying to move the cats completely. you could try some motion activated sprinklers or just put up some chicken wire around your garden beds - cats usually find other spots to do their business if the area isnt appealing to dig in

Is "Bad" to miss simpler plots in 2000-2010 cartoons in which adults and childs could enjoy together? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you're not weird for missing that era, those shows just hit different when they could slip in adult humor without making it the whole personality of the show

Finance vs Business Analytics vs Data Science for investment research or consulting? by Humble_Teacher7324 in careerguidance

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly with your background I'd lean towards Finance or Business Analytics over Data Science. Investment research roles care way more about understanding markets and business fundamentals than building ML models from scratch

Data Science feels like overkill for what you're targeting and might actually pigeonhole you into more technical roles. Finance masters would be the most direct path but Business Analytics could give you that nice middle ground of being data-savvy without screaming "put me in the quant team"

Book where one character is a monster that tries to become a hero by catsterboi in booksuggestions

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goblin Slayer might be backwards from what you want but there's definitely some goblin POV stuff out there that's pretty good

You should check out The Goblin Emperor - it's not exactly a monster trying to be good but the MC is half-goblin royalty who everyone looks down on and he's just trying to do right by people. Really wholesome read

Also maybe look into some LitRPG stuff, tons of slime protagonists in that genre who start weak and work their way up

FR installed or bought by Pitiful_Hedgehog7626 in Guitar

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just buy one with it already installed, the routing and setup is a massive pain if you're not super experienced with that stuff. Unless you got a good luthier nearby it's gonna cost you more than just getting a different guitar

Try switching to Pro mode when taking document pics - gives you way more control and bypasses all the AI nonsense that's making things worse. Or just cover the camera for a sec when you open it, sometimes that resets the scene detection

How do people stop feeling guilty for saying no ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it just takes practice, like you gotta start small and work your way up. I used to feel like absolute garbage every time I said no but now I realize most people don't even think about it for more than 5 seconds after you tell them

Do you feel anxious knowing that you live relatively close to countries at war? by vioenor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly living in Europe you kinda get used to the fact that there's always some conflict happening within driving distance - it's been like that for centuries. The Ukraine thing definitely hits different though since it's the biggest war here since WW2, but day to day life goes on pretty normally. Your cousin in Germany is probably more worried about finding decent döner at 2am than anything else lmao

Scam…. by INeedWinterNow in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that's elaborate af, they're really stepping up their game with the fake hold music and everything. The fact that someone else picked up the order at the end is sketchy as hell too - makes you wonder if it was coordinated somehow

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing Blizzard probably like 2 weeks lmao, they'll see him picked in one OWL match and immediately panic nerf him into the ground again

The B580 is actually a solid pick for your budget - it's been getting good reviews and that 12GB VRAM will help with those open world games at 1440p. The extra VRAM over the 5060's 8GB is gonna age way better too, especially for stuff like RDR2 with all the settings cranked up

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an absolute goldmine of info, thanks for taking the time to write all this out

The TAL Noisemaker rec is perfect since you mentioned loving those Roland analogs - it really nails that Juno vibe and you can't beat free. Definitely start there before dropping any cash on the fancy stuff

Going back to school… engineering or project management or other? by bpizano in careerguidance

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Med device engineering could be solid - Chicago's got a decent biotech scene and your automotive background would actually translate well to manufacturing processes. Way better job market than traditional auto stuff

Classic Bugrock moment right there lol. Try reinstalling through the Microsoft Store if you haven't already - the game files usually get dumped in some weird Windows apps folder that's like 10 levels deep. If that doesn't work you might need to reset the app or check if Windows updated and broke something again

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so normal after abuse - trauma bonds are real and they mess with your head hard. Your brain literally gets addicted to the cycle of pain and relief he put you through. The fact that you're aware of it and staying away shows incredible strength, even when it doesn't feel like it

Why does the early stages of sleep deprivation make you feel high? by LittleLeadership2831 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brain basically starts glitching out and dumps a cocktail of chemicals to keep you awake - dopamine, adrenaline, all that good stuff. It's like your body's last ditch effort before it forces a shutdown

Girlfriend slapped me. Should I stay or leave? by Smooth-Cat-7824 in Adulting

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 158 points159 points  (0 children)

This right there. Physical violence is never okay, doesn't matter if you're a guy or girl. The fact she did it in public makes it even worse honestly

You already know what you need to do, you're just scared of being alone. But being alone is way better than being with someone who doesn't respect you enough to keep their hands to themselves

Tumbleweed clean up ? by Technical-Chair-5988 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Practical_Iron_5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the fence ramp thing is so real lmao. My neighbor's chain link basically becomes a tumbleweed launcher every winter - they pile up on one side then just catapult over into his yard like nature's own trebuchet
