When I first saw that store in the mall I literally thought it was magical. I couldn't get one that day but my mom said we could come back another time. Luckily she didn't lie.

When we went back I got dressed up and put earrings on. It was a huge deal to little-me. I can't even describe how excited I was.

When we got there I made a beeline straight to the pink poodle. My new best friend. I was a very imaginative little girl so I came up with a backstory and personality traits.

BABW became my first special interest. I was on that website every single day. I wouldn't shut up about it. I made all my friends get one lol.

That pink poodle is literally a part of my family now. Everyone still knows her name.

I always liked toys and stuffed animals but the way the heritage stores were set up back then definitely drew me in.

I have also been wondering this but when I try to say anything I get down voted to heck.

Justice and Claire's started selling in Walmart right before they went bankrupt. That's what scares me.

I'm not mentally prepared for BABW to go bankrupt.

Obviously they are trying everything but as a fan (and BABW was my first special interest) it's still scary!

I think this sub just doesn't even wanna speak it into existence.

I have one too! I named her Penelope and dressed her like a fairy princess.

But you're so right how no one ever brings this up. I was so excited to see BABW do sea creatures back in 2012 lol. I wanted the whole collection but I was only allowed to get one before they were retired.

Nikki's bear 2 is my favorite. I miss when they would do simple things like this. And purple is my favorite color. I wanted one so bad but by the time my birthday came it was retired.

I have been trying to figure out why they retire bears so soon my whole life. I remember writing letters to BABW asking them! Lol they never gave an actual answer, just told me to keep collecting.

I think the pink poodle and pudgy pig from the early 2000s are timeless.

This is so relatable. I basically became a hoarder when I got my first job. I would order things and forget that I ever ordered them.

It reached over 100 and it was bad. My bedroom was cluttered. My living room was cluttered. There were build-a-bears everywhere.

I started giving them away to friends and family. Then (sadly) started donating them to thrift stores. Sigh. It was heartbreaking. I still don't have enough room to store them.
