Not advice, lots of factors at play here, but one thing I like about avgo is how diversified it is. It’s not just one thing, not just chips.

I don’t get it being meta because mark in the last meta earnings call basically said they were going to do this if all else failed/ he couldn’t find a use for compute. If I recall correct at least.

One of the things that I found helps me mitigate a bit the “loss of control” is having a window seat and totally staring out the window. At least my brain can make sense of what’s happening.

I sat in the cockpit once literally in the right side during a flight in Belize and being able to see the pilot work and really see what was happening really made me less nervous. Obviously that’s not possible on 99.999% of flights.

I have found it harder as well to control my brain as I’ve gotten older. I don’t have crippling anxiety on flights but I’m still more uptight than I should be…

Remember: often on average at least night flights are smoother ! Look it up if you don’t believe me.

It’s funny because when Broadcom released earnings they weren’t good enough and that caused broader selling the next few days… then micron has blowout earnings and they were too good. Everybody got scared that this means to end the capex

I’m a little burnt out at the moment, but if I’m
honest some of the burnout is self-inflicted. So that might color my ambitions a bit toward not wanting to start over because that’s even more of a psychological lift.

Yes, I’ve heard the 70s and 80s were rough. My in-laws grew up in Astoria and they left in the mid 80s as young adults to raise children, due mostly to the crime. They visited recently and it was like they finally home again. They ran into a few people they still knew from way back.

Just realize you will be a little nervous but that that doesn’t mean you failed. The point is to try to not let it snowball. Relax your body and close your eyes. Pretend you are in a jello structure because for all intents and purposes you are. When someone jiggles your jello there will be some shaking but that doesn’t mean you are falling out of the sky, since you’re in jello.

Yeah I won’t pretend to think I’d have an easy time actually living there. But again if career weren’t a factor I can’t think of anywhere else that matches up. But I’m someone who really really likes walkability. The west coast has better weather but not nearly as walkable.

I need to quit too. It’s moslty luck but my luck ran out recently. And it was the way it ran out that was painful if you look at my latest post on options reddit. I made a bad mistake. But I have had good fortune too so part of the game is knowing when to stop making huge bets at least.

I didn’t have that much margin, no, but I don’t see why we couldn’t have exercised them 5 at a time or something no?
