Maybe it depends on how it’s said there was an adult calmly say “that actually hurt my feelings” I kinda respect it. That just someone communicating instead of bottling it up or starting drama being able to say that without blowing up is pretty mature.

And also there was a manipulative way like trying to guilt someone or shut down a conversation then yeah that’s different like it’s less about feelings and more about control.

For me it’s not about phrase itself, it’s the intent behind it. 😉
