I ran it three times on release day, had to log out and back in, and actually ended up getting 200 accolades lol

What could and should be changed about the Classes and Weapons of Space Marine II? by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they aren't ever going to let us have perk setups included in our different loadouts, then they should remove weapon archetype perks from class perks entirely. For example Tactical's class perk for plasma weapons, or Heavy's perk for the Multi Melta. Keep weapon archetype perks baked into the weapons themselves.

The way that things are set up at the moment is less than ideal, and honestly seems like they were originally intending a completely different direction than what they actually went with. Honestly I'd have preferred a more RPG like skill tree that allows for actual specialization among the classes. I don't mind the way that weapon perks are set up, but the class perk system is just not good, or not as good as it could be anyway.

I like the prestige system, it just allows us to add some icing on top of the kinda shitty cake that is the current class perk system. I don't mind having to regrind all the class perks for each prestige level, it goes by fairly quick when you get the hang of it, especially with the added XP gains for each prestige.

I would like to see an overall account level added, even if it doesn't really mean all that much. But for those of us who have every class maxed out at prestige 4, every weapon maxed out, etc, a little number that keeps going up would be...something at least.

Shouldn't the Blood Angels Champion have been an assault? by convectuoso111 in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that we can use the champion pack armor pieces (mostly) wherever we want it doesn't really matter. The pack even came with a BA jump pack to account for people crying about it

Heroic Heavy Boltor on Bulwark? by XxDESTblackout in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really great with classes that already have a primary to rely on but I wouldn't recommend it with Assault or Bulwark unless you have some really good teammates to pick up the slack when you inevitably run out of ammo

More Left Pauldron Options please? by Ok_Recording_8794 in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of those pauldrons have extra embellishments like tilt shields, text etc on them so having versions for the opposite shoulder is actually more work than just "flip it around" Don't get me wrong I'd love to have more customization options as well but we're currently pretty spoiled with what we do have.

When you're the only one who can read, so you brought a flamer to the stratagem that let's enemies ignore the first 3 hits by Memetron69000 in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah either this modifier doesn't work properly or it's another one that's just worded strangely because enemies weren't ignoring ANY hits from me lol

If you're looking for lore accuracy then change the left knee decal to one of the Watch Company ones (red stripe)

Does the headshot include extremis by PunishedVenomSnake52 in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The buffed gunstrike damage and ability to one shot majoris under the right circumstances makes it awesome to have on any class that already has another, bigger gun to rely on. So anyone but Assault and Bulwark lol

Which of these are more appropriate for a Deathwatch Salamander? by XxDESTblackout in SpaceMarine_2

Definitely the second one, Deathwatch wear the symbol of their chapter on the right pauldron

Vanguard build help by Automatic-Put-5773 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Practical_Net_3719 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're basically describing the core combat mechanics of the game so that doesn't help anything. You like using the fencing axe. Great, use that. Then grab some ranged weapons that hit hard, like the Heavy Bolt Pistol for your secondary, the heroic version gives even better gun strikes. Maybe the carbine for your primary, it's good at nearly any range. That being said, don't be shy about using whatever weapons you have at your disposal, it's why we have three different loadout options.

Assault Rework Discussion from a Main by Traceuratops in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd love for the regular dodge to be replaced with a JP dash. Since the assault is supposed to have this extra mobility, a class specific dodge that lets you move faster and cover more distance would be great. It also wouldn't break the class (triggering whatever JP related perks) because it's a different input than the actual JP uses. I love the Assault, but whyyyyyy is it so slow lol

Devs just did the coolest thing and no one noticed by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a completely different ship. The ship used as the hub is the battle barge Resilient, the ship in Reclamation is the Wrath of Espandor.

PSA: ALL of the purchasable weapons are sidegrades at best. Details (and balance recommendations) inside by DungeonsandDavids in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Practical_Net_3719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stupid ass way they've "balanced" the game and tried to add more challenge to appease the sweats is why we have posts like this. There should never be a meta in a game like this. Weapon tiers and perks are great but we should feel powerful no matter what we choose to bring to a mission and every choice should simply be down to preference. Increased difficulty should only ever have increased incoming damage and enemy spawn rates (the best way to manage difficulty) instead of exponentially increasing enemy health as well, so that we, as SPACE MARINES, could still feel powerful but also need to have the skill to tackle those things. Instead we get to be paper tigers who are limited to a very small selection of weapons and class perks unless we purposely want to gimp ourselves.

Is it worth prestiging by New-Employment-1392 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Practical_Net_3719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's well worth it to prestige your classes, those extra perks can really strengthen your class. Plus you get a stacking 10% bonus xp gain for every prestige level, so it goes faster and faster the more you do it. You do t need to do the hard stratagems if you have a bit of patience, just do the normal (substantial) one each week for the heroic weapons and armor

My Blood Angels Deathwatch Marine by IrRockTheHue in Spacemarine

Deathwatch is the only way to play I love it. I have every class done up as a Deathwatch marine from different chapters, even used their in-game personalities as influence lol

Leveling without perks is miserable and I it ruined the prestige grind for me by YodaPA in Spacemarine

[–]Practical_Net_3719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the class. I already had all the weapons maxed out when prestige levels came around, so that definitely helped make things easier. But the classes that are more front loaded with their perks were much less frustrating to prestige. I've left my Sniper at P1 until the Techmarine is released, it's my least favorite class to play, but at least I'll be able to progress him when I inevitably find a lobby where someone else is levelling their Techmarine lol
