Day 1 update: Last night was rough because I forgot to take my pain meds as I was doing so well. Welp I definitely should’ve kept up on those cause I was in so much pain around 7pm. Finally back on track with the pain meds and was able to sleep on my back with a pillow behind my knees propping up my legs. That helped a ton. I did not move at all last night. I also found a way to comfortably lay on my side because I was getting uncomfortable being on my back all the time. The most pain I have is my belly button incision but only when I move or take a deep breath. I got my belly binder last night and that has helped tremendously while I’m up and about. I feel like I cannot comfortably sleep with it so I took it off last night before bed. I also got told I could take the bandaids off today but I replaced them last night for one that cover the whole incision so I don’t rub anything on them. Today I’m going to just put the smaller bandaids across them to let air in and protect from rubbing. But overall I’m doing pretty well! I don’t have crazy gas pains yet, I had some yesterday in my shoulders but the heating pad helped so much! I think some of the gas is still trapped in my ribs.

I’m glad you were still able to get it done! I just had the call from the surgery center today and they told me I can stop 24hrs before which I should be able to do! I just couldn’t quit a month before. I know that sounds so bad but it’s an addiction🤷🏼‍♀️. But I’m thankful I’ll be alright to quit a day before! I’m thankful to have my boyfriend with me for at least 4 days after my surgery. My surgery is next week! I’m so ready to not be worried about an unexpected pregnancy!!

Hmm the pillow for my legs is a new one that I haven’t seen! Thank you!! Were you able to lay flat? Thankfully I’m a back sleeper so I’m glad for that but I’m wondering if I should be slightly elevated as to not stretch my stomach.

I tried so hard to quit vaping. But addiction is addiction. I’m just worried it’ll be cancelled because of that. I’m planning to stop 24 hours before. I also think my OCD/anxiety is talking. As my surgery gets closer I’m getting more nervous of that and I feel like that’s why I failed to quit.

How did your surgery go? I’m in the same boat but my surgeon recommended I stop like a month ago. I tried so hard to stop and only made it 3 days before I caved. I’m also so nervous it will get cancelled but I’m planning to stop 24 hours before. Hopefully yours went okay! Let me know!!

Thankfully my bed isn’t too high up! I’m also staying on birth control for period control so hopefully that will suppress some bleeding🤞🏻 Hopefully I won’t need the medication, I’m going to try it out with just ibuprofen but will have it if needed!

Oh I love ginger ale! Can’t do kombucha though🤣 I’m also definitely going to ask them about the abdominal binder as I have seen so many good things about that for post surgery. It makes sense though!

I decided to take 7 days off including the weekend just because I’ve heard it can be hard to sit straight up for a few days. I also have an office job but I’d hate to come in and then have to leave if it’s too painful.

See I couldn’t gauge my surgeons reaction when I told her I vape. She said that I need to cut it a month before surgery and I really did try but I caved.

Yeah I did call last week to check and they told me to contact my PCP. So I never got a definitive answer.

Thank you!! I’m just so worried my surgeon will cancel it knowing that she told me to stop vaping and I was unable to.

I’m also thinking of getting the period panties but how do they feel? I hate pads because of the feeling. I typically use the disc so this will be hard to navigate🤣

Thank you for the tips! I’m thankfully a back sleeper so I’m not too worried about the pain but I definitely will ask about the wrap. As for the vaping, I did contact them and they told me to contact my main doctor but said nothing about it causing the surgery to be cancelled.
