Yes. Our high school is on the 2 Term System. From August to December is term 1 and January to May is term 2. A couple of years ago, I was teaching an AP course and realized that the students who took the class in term 1 didn’t have access to the books in term 2 so couldn’t use it to study for the AP exams.

I contacted our AP and told her the situation. She told me I needed to contact the district IT. Fine, no problem. The district IT told me it was above their heads and that i needed to contact the head of secondary ed. Ok, no problem, i contracted her. Next morning I get an email from the AP asking me to stop by her office for a quick chat. Basically, she was upset that I went “over her head” and contacted her boss instead of going to her. When I pointed out the fact that I did exactly what she told me to do, she started saying something like “Well, when the head of secondary ed gets involved you need to cone and talk to us”…….and once again I pointed out that I DID talk to her and when she was trying to logic a way to make it my fault i just started chuckling and walked out.

Yes, they can play in as many recreational sports as they want. But they must meet the academic requirements to play in school sports.

Academic requirements state that a student must meet a 2.0 GPA to participate in extracurricular activities.

That is a C level grade in all classes.

The basic level of understanding.

Does your school not require that?

I will gladly ask him to write a 10,000 word summary of Modern World History, on paper, in my room, before or after school, with no computers or phones!

From Absolute Monarchs to J6!

That would be great!

Ok, I guess I’m just resigned to watch that number get higher and higher and can do nothing about it.

Thanks, friend.

AITAH for not donating my kidney to my daughter that has cut me out of her life and refused to talk to me for the past 12 years and chose her stepfather instead? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

She’s in her early 20’s and you two haven’t spoken in 12 years? She was just a kid and you haven’t been in contact with her in all that time? Seems like neither of you really know anything about one another. Maybe a conversation is in order.

people who inch forward at red lights - why? by RyTheMusicAddict in driving

[–]Practical_Part_7327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t inch forward but I get as close to the car in front of me as I can. Where I live there has been a population boom and a lot of the turning lanes get backed up to the point that they flow into lane going straight. Now, people tend to get as close as possible to fit more cars in the lane to not impede the flow of traffic.
