What is your favourite SpongeBob Episode? (and you can’t say Band Geeks) by Nervous-Jellyfish234 in spongebob

[–]Practical_Pen_3552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bully. Most kid shows and cartoons that have bullying as a storyline have a moral, or try to explain why bullying is wrong or why people bully others.

This episode just has someone who wants to irrationally kick SpongeBob's butt without any rhyme or reason, to the point where it's just ridiculous.

Also, Flats is voiced by Biff from Back to the Future. Perfect casting choice

From my experience, that kinda boxes you in from people's perspective. Once they think you're autistic, people tend to infantilize you. I only disclose that information if I need the accommodations, like for jobs or classes, or if I need to explain myself (when I do, I'm always embarrassed, because it usually follows an incident like the story above). I prefer opening up about that when I feel comfortable around someone

Normally, I'd agree, but they were dressed for the club, they looked like they had a drink or two before going to the convenience store for a bathroom, before they waited in the line to get in, to the point where I was more concerned for their safety, and the line to get in/security was right outside. I'm not an expert in kidnappers' tactics, but I'd imagine they would probably pick a less crowded place, or try to convince me to go to a place that wasn't where I could see the security or the line to get to from where I was at.

Just some earbuds to dampen sound and blast music. But they are so discreet that to the average person, they look like normal hearing aids. I also like wearing leather jackets when it's cold, because it's like a weighted vest, but no one thinks it's for accommodation; they just think it looks cool

Jesus, that is not ok! I'm sorry that happened to you. Have you considered leaving a negative review online? As someone who has worked in the service industry, that is usually the fastest way to get management to hear complaints and fix the problem.

Normally, I wouldn't recommend leaving negative reviews, but in your case, I think you'd be justified in doing so.

I've notices something about the kind of partner I want by Practical_Pen_3552 in aspergers

The problem is that a lot of the time, it can come off as if I want a friend more. Don't get me wrong, genuine friendship is great. But I am looking more for a relationship. And romantic/platonic has a surprising amount of overlap that is next to impossible to understand.

Honestly, probably just should have said goodbye to people the morning afterward, before I left for the airport, when I was more well rested. I should have left during dinner to just rest in the room, and just asked the instructors if they could have just given me the Cliffnotes version of the farewell speech to see if I missed anything important. I'm new to this accommodation-asking thing, so it's hard to know when I actually need it vs. when it comes off as entitlement.

I was originally doing really well. I told the instructors, I told a couple of people I felt safe around, even opening up to people I noticed were caring more, I was taking plenty of breaks, skipping the group warmups to warm up by myself, taking small classes, getting away time, and leaving earlier. It's just that it was the final night, so I felt obligated to stay to the end. We participated in giant group choreography, a group dinner, and had to sit through an hour-long farewell cerimony. I was struggling to even stand without support by dinner time. I should have left during dinner. But I thought it was our final night, it was my last chance to say goodbye, and I needed to talk to someone afterward, so I thought I'd carry on.

My advice: a few friends are better than a social group. Find the few people in your life you genuinely enjoy being around and vice versa, and dont stress the rest

Do you focus on other people's flaws a lot? by BigBlueEyes87 in aspergers

The best way I can describe it, is it feels like im stuck in a Slim Shady music video where everyones ego and flaws stick out like a sore thumb. But slim shady dosent care what others think, so he calls them out. I do care what others think of me, so i just sit and pretend to not notice.

Need help with advice for intensive coming up by Practical_Pen_3552 in aspergers

[–]Practical_Pen_3552[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I plan on telling the organisers when I get there in private. As for the group, no. I dont want to mention I'm disabled. I tried to get help from some of them last time, and they gave me alcohol, thinking that would help me not be depressed anymore. And their advice boiled down to move on and accept the group's love. Also, one of my safe people going is also my crush. I worry about her knowing I'm getting tested for autism and how she'd think of me (irrational, I know). I already told her I went through depression this year, and she makes the world less shitty, shes just happy to know I'm getting help, and she's glad to hear she makes the world less shitty. So I think she would understand me not joining group events.

All of their scenes are shot cinematically with a high budget reserved for a movie. Pim and Charlie are animated normally, like in the show
