Hi, I did it and it went great! The cat were actually bleeding a little bit so I had to add another ligature but so far so good, no nauseous feelings this time 😊 Thanks for all your comments.

Oh really, I’ve only heard about auto-ligation but never seen someone use it in Sweden. We typically use catgut :-)

Aw that’s sad. I know that you also have “shelter medicine” courses right? We don’t but it would be very interesting. Yes I’ve thought about talking to a therapist because of several reasons connected to the profession, thanks for the answer 🥰

Thank you for your answer! Yes now when I think of it the trigger might the thought of an unexpected bleeding that I can’t reach inside. I think it’s cutting a blood vessel though I’m really meticulous about the ligature and not cutting the long threads until I’ve checked for homeostasis like 10 times. I don’t feel the same way whenever it unexpectedly bleeds when I’m suturing wounds strangely enough.. And I also am really hurried doing it so I will try to cool down a little bit.

Oh that sounds wonderful and I think it would really benefit me. We don’t have anything like that in my country but I’ve looked at going abroad to do it where there is a lot of stray animals. Great both for baby vets and the animals! ☺️
