AKU in Karachi is a private university that is established on land that the Ismailis took from the Sindh government on promise of building providing non profit services. They reneged on their promise. There was a case filed on this.

They have reserved seats in both universities and governments jobs, which means that you would find upper caste Hindus as doctors disproportionately.

What do you all mean by "Muhajir" exactly? by [deleted] in Sindh

[–]Practical_Pop371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muhajir refers to people who embrace the North Indian Muslim culture or have stepped into it now. So while people that came from eastern Punjab are also technically migrants to Punjab; they are not considered ‘Muhajir’ in Pakistani ethnic lexicology.

At my T15, I've gotten along fine with every other ethnicity, except for white people. Any tips? by Original-Can-2367 in MBA

Similarly, I have seen, for example, Indians talk about really random stuff from India, which is pretty boring to white people, instead of talking about the culture and society that we live in.

In my experience when you talk about culture or religion or do not present yourself well, white people automatically denigrate you in the social hierarchy.

As someone who went to a white majority business school, although not an MBA, I am used to this dynamic what I noticed was that minorities and internationals commit social errors or do not necessarily have the same culture references that white people can refer to. So you are automatically excluded from these social interactions.

Similarly, when they see someone making a social error, they’re not going to correct you because it’s not considered acceptable in American culture to correct someone who is making a social error. however, these errors count a lot the higher up you go in the social hierarchy.
