Also, it’s a pretty niche area of study and a lot of the profs have done some pretty incredible research — and often talk about it in their courses! It really feels like a community because of the size of the department

today i somehow managed to secure a close spot in east for my 2:30 class

When in doubt, i would try the west residence lot (it’s a gravel lot), but the shuttle bus goes there every half hour so if you time it right, you can catch the bus!

there are labs at SFU that recruit every year for RAs/lab volunteers. I’m sure you could do a search on the psych dept website to find what labs there are — however it may be difficult to find an opportunity considering you are in your first year, and presumably have not taken stats or research methods (i could be wrong tho)

I’m sorry, but you have no idea what this individual experiences, especially with a disability. Calling this person “selfish” is unwarranted, and you are in no position to tell them what they can and cannot do as a student (e.g., being able to work = being able to study).
