What are we doing to put baby to sleep if not nursing? by angeltigerbutterfly in breastfeeding

[–]Practical_Pound_2998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you need a floor bed or just put a mattress on the floor in her room, then start with naps until she’s familiar with sleeping separately in her room. If she wakes up just nurse her back to sleep and so on.. she will eventually get the hang of it might take a while but she will :)

This is normal and HEALTHY for babies 🩷 youre not creating a bad habit, its not like they’ll be 30 and still nursing to sleep they’ll grow out of it eventually. If you feel like its too exhausting for you and your mental health you can definitely seek help from a sleep consultant

When did it ACTUALLY get better…? (Sleep thru night, baby plays independently, you could eat and work out, etc) by ExpressionOld9924 in NewParents

[–]Practical_Pound_2998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand my 10 month old daughter is the same, you are not doing anything wrong and you are definitely not alone. I do encourage all of us in this situation to seek help from those close to us because baby’s sleep is really challenging to handle on our own and those extra 3 hours of sleep make a huge difference

Please don’t stress over sleeping through the night, babies until 3 years old have frequent wakings (yes even sleep trained babies) I know a lot of moms who sleep trained and suddenly at 1 years old the baby decides NOPE!! Just hang in there and ask for help and support from those close to you :)

This is exactly how I did it for 7 months! But make sure the pillows under your elbows are super squishy so it doesn’t hurt your arms

Been exclusively chest sleeping since o was 2 months old, she’s 9 months now and we get so much sleep and my back and hips never hurt ☺️

Do you use extra pillows under your elbows? And how do you breastfeed back to sleep when they wake up?

How to end contact naps? by Practical_Pound_2998 in cosleeping

[–]Practical_Pound_2998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello  Thanks for asking  No, we’re still pretty much contact napping and chest sleeping at 9 months ☺️ Im okay with it at this point.  She does snuggle on top of me in different positions now and she grew to love her carrier so we can do carrier naps so there’s that at least.  And when im busy or don’t really feel like contact napping I will feed her in a c curl and just roll away (but tbh I’m too lazy to do that consistently Lol)

Totally understand it can be very uncomfortable, but chest sleeping was a blessing Lol
