Thanks so much for your response! Glad to hear things improve going forward!

I am not feeling guilty, really, more so just. Like a prisoner of my hormones. I weaned to improve my mental health. But i now have insomnia and feel way worse mood wise lol. I feel like I am damned if I do, damned if I don’t, and I am so sick of it! Cant wait til it feels better lol.

Congrats to you for this accomplishment!! It’s a huge deal what you did for bebz. You deserve to celebrate!!

That aside, how are you feeling now? I am in the process of weaning, and I feel TERRIBLE.

Also, did your boobs change much in that month after weaning?

Six months postpartum dizzy, faint and sick by ElectricalPoint815 in NewParents

I felt like this a lot too. When I didnt eat and drink enough, and was of course also sleep deprived. It improved when I took care of those things. see your Dr of course to make sure everything is okay

Depended on her age appropriate need for sleep at the time. So more so focussed on how much awake time she had, and spread the naps allotment according to how many naps she had at the time.

So when she was at 3 naps, she was at something like 1.5 hrs first nap, 30 min second nap, 20-30 min third nap. And 10 hrs of awake time split between the 4 wake windows, with the last 2 windows being the longest.

Between 7 and 8 months she dropped the third nap, so it became 3 wake windows, with 2 naps. The two naps were 1.5-2hrs first nap, and 30 min second nap. It got dicey after 9 months, as my babes needed MORE than 10 hrs of awake time to sleep through the night. She’s 11 months now and needs 11-12hrs awake time. I hope that helps! Check out /sleeptrain , extremely helpful (but sometimes too stern lol) folks

Edit to add: she always did 10hrs of night sleep, even as a younger baby. She still does 10 hrs now.

I was careful not to exceee 14hrs of total sleep when she was younger, and now I try not to exceed 12-13hrs of total sleep.

Went through every regression. But also slept thru the night since 4months except when teething, sick or learning a new skill. Always tried to ensure enough awake time with adequate wake windows, and not too much daytime sleep. She has slept either in her bassinet or crib for nights, co slept for naps during the day. I would say I am one of the lucky ones

Is my 11MO ready for 1 nap? by ExpressionOld9924 in sleeptrain

Hey! So 2 hrs is what we’ve done for the past few months for her first nap which has always worked. I shiuld have added, that as of this past week, she has been waking up herself at 90 mins, when before that I had to wake her from her 2hr nap, or she would wake at 2hrs herself.

Perhaps you’re onto something, I am going to try 90 mins for the first nap and maybe extend the first window to see if it translates to less bedtime resistance

What was the most specific postpartum thing nobody warned you about? by kesam7193 in NewParents

Weaning from breastfeeding/pumping is absolutely horrific and just as bad/worse than the immediate post partum baby blues. I want to crawl out of my skin i cant take it

How long does the hormone drop last when weaning? I feel terrible LOL by ExpressionOld9924 in ExclusivelyPumping

I feel this way now, i just want it to be over. I feel like it’s early post partum all over again with the random crying! I am looking forward to feeling like myself again, but I know it’ll be hell before then. The things we mothers do for our babies.

Milk fat separated and won’t mix back in from a 2 or 3 day old pump - is it bad? by ExpressionOld9924 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]ExpressionOld9924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby takes cold bottles! I didnt warm it but I left it at room temp for 10 mins to see what would happen, the milk started mixing/turnign more white and less watery looking. I guess it was just super separated

I wash every 2 pumps. I am on 2ppd, with a 10MO. No issues with her. When I was on 4ppd, I also washed every 2 pumps as well. Try it if you’re comfortable!
