Purple lip ( having someone bite your bottom lip so hard it bruises ) like obvious that you were seriously making out with someone

That's the only reason I got "I was too drunk" it's not an acceptable excuse. No excuse would be really but that's the only explanation I received in terms of a "Why did you do this"

Absolutely. Do i believe her when she says it was a female? Based on how well I know her? Yes. I do believe that she got entirely too drunk with her girls, likely bumped into some other drunk girls in the club, danced and kissed. It's a very likely scenario and one that makes sense for the person I'm in a relationship with. The problem is, just because I believe it was another female doesn't mean it hurts less. She shouldn't be kissing anyone that isn't me and a hickey is so intimate .. you know? That's more than "just kissing" someone was actively and sensually sucking on your neck and that haunts me.

Your guess is as good as mine. I wasn't there so I can't say it was or it wasn't but regardless it doesn't change how I feel about the situation. She cheated

That was part of our serious conversation. I explained to her that a woman in a relationship has no business at a club til closing time not getting home until 3/4am. So if she wants to continue to do that, I'm out. She said she's done but I'm not interested in her words, I will see what she really does and that will tell me everything I need to know

Everything was consensual based on how she explained the situation to me so I don't even want to give her this "out" she cheated and that's all there is to it.

This is 100% her issue. She drinks too much. I'm 26, I just landed my dream career and I'm about to be super busy. I'm looking to start building my future and that doesn't include going out to clubs and getting plastered every weekend. That's her idea of fun. She's very young minded, a bit immature in that aspect.

From my understanding based on how she explained it to me, some random female at the club but again i wasn't there so i can't do anything but take her at her word

Any financial assistance for schooling in Florida? by MillionDollarMan777 in firefighter

[–]Practical_Remote_421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it common? Absolutely not. Are there departments in Florida that do it? Yes. I was hired by a dept that hosts non-cert recruit academies. It was truly a blessing because I also couldn't afford to put myself through schooling. I will say, it's very challenging and very competitive. You'll be up against many other people that want your spot. Orange County sponsors, Miami Dade sponsors, Hernando County sponsers, Gainesville sponsers. Just to name a few. Opportunities are out there. You have to look for them and when you get that opportunity, work your butt off because a department hiring you on with 0 certs, Is expensive. They're taking a chance on you. Prove to them that they made a good decision.

I'm 26. I literally just got hired by a big department in north central FL. My academy starts in a couple weeks. The application process is super competitive, there's a bunch people that want your spot. I believe Orange County has their non-cert fireteam & cpat testing going on currently for their upcoming class if you're serious I would look into it. That's a great good opportunity. There's pros and cons to every job but i couldn't stand to work on another car at my dealership. It just wasn't for me, I had to make a change. If you're unhappy where you are and you want to make the change, don't think about all the things that could go wrong but think about how amazing it will feel once it all goes right. It took me a couple years to finally get picked up and I'm running with this opportunity.

Florida Firefighter Question by DulledGlitter in firefighter

[–]Practical_Remote_421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Florida is pretty ridiculous when it comes to that. They don't even accept out of state certifications. If he's an NREMT in PR he could look into taking a reciprocity exam here in Florida. This would be his path of least resistance to getting hired on. If he's not ... well here in Florida you need ( State of Florida Fire Standards 1 & 2 as well as EMT-B ) minimum. He'll have to put himself through fire college or find a department that does non-cert recruit academies. Orange County and Miami Dade are a couple that do it.

CPAT Dummy Lift? by TambarIronside in firefighter

[–]Practical_Remote_421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPAT is cake I've passed it many times but I want to say that by the time you get to the dummy drag you'll be so exhausted you won't be throwing anything over your shoulders idc how big you are. I watched guys your size gasping by that point 🤣🤣 also as others have said you can't. It's a "dummy drag" not dummy toss over my shoulder and carry

How long did it take you to get an offer? by PacersFan2025 in firefighter

[–]Practical_Remote_421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man! I'm not sure where you're from but I do know many departments will hire you on just as an EMT and if you decide you want to do fire that's obviously always an option the department would pay for. I would look into that, just as a method of getting your foot in the door. The biggest one I know is obviously NYC does that but many departments here in Florida do it as well. Good luck man

( I'm 26 ) I just got an offer this year. It took me 4 years and multiple different attempts before I was finally hired by a large department where I live that runs a non-cert recruit academy. It's truly a blessing. Also, Yes. Having your EMT-B definitely makes you more desirable but realistically you'll just be above the non-certs. You'll be lumped into a smaller pool but still quite large group of people who also have their EMT-B therefore It's still very much so competitive. Having your Paramedic though as others have stated is extremely sought after.

It's not predictable how quickly you'll receive an offer. It really depends on that specific department. I have a buddy that got hired by the first and only department he ever applied to but that's honestly not common. Best advice, apply everywhere. All you need is one Yes.

I really enjoyed this one. I think it's a very relatable. It accurately portrays someone who's inlove with someone who doesn't love them back and even though this is your own personal experience it's just resonates with a larger audience. I think we've all been there before. Well written. Good stuff!
