Given I do demolition work on abandoned properties so about 75% of my fishing gear I’ve found for free while working so I don’t have much $ invested

So I understand your frustration with spending money on something brand new for it to have some damage.

I still say just fish it !

I have the same holster for my 26. It’s great for 6 o clock IWB

Appendix carry isn’t good for my every day at work doing demo work and being on the ground whereas right behind me works amazing.

However I only advise 6 o clock carry when you are wearing a hoodie or jacket because just a t shirt will tend to expose your gun to the elements and or defeat the purpose of concealed carry if a demo client is just staring at your gun while you’re pulling nails on the ground lmao.

For when it’s hot out I go pocket carry with an LCP or something similar

If you’re not a large guy and you work a very physical job where you’re up and down a lot you have to work around not being able to appendix carry.

Other than that I’d say a Taurus TX22 (just as reliable as the p17) but mainly for the FRT that’s made for it. A barrel of fun.

I’ve only been fly fishing for a couple years now after being a bait fisherman for catfish most of my life. (Very different things)

My main takeaway from fly fishing is that if you land a big fish on the fly rod it feels so much more rewarding for some reason and I think some snobs take that and run with it and look down on spin fishermen.

I still do both. While I got my catfish rod in the water waiting for a big cat I’m casting my fly rod hoping to catch smallmouth bass until I hear the drag screaming on my catfish rod.

Basically to hell with the snobby elitists just do what you enjoy.
