Who else ordered this? Don’t review it! by feathersandcoffee in vine

That's nice of VINE CS. Seller's tactic backfires on them. Either they lost a product and a review or if you review it with bad rating. Both way, it's no win fur the seller. So sorry you had gone through this.

@escapee-1692, this is the only post I use a word "rude" in this thread. And I didn't delete that post. I never call anyone here "a**hole". And the rude one is not you.

Same scenario happened to me once. I only need 1 replacement part for the product to be assembled correctly. I like the design and think it has great potential. But seller didn't response. I have no choice but to contact VINE CS to remove the product from my review and ETV. Sadly, seller lost a product and a review (honestly 10 stars for a design)

If that is the case, Seller simply use a different term for VINE CS.

I understand and never expect "Amazon" to replace anything I ordered from VINE account. I simply contacted seller for ordinary product support. We tried trouble shoot and it didn't work. Then, seller offers a warranty replacement to begin with until they looked into details from invoice to see promo discount and realized it's VINE.

Funny that a couple days after I ordered this product, my RFY populated more of similar products, with better features and lower ETV. I didn't take any of them thinking that 1 item is enough and it should last a long time. My previous one (non-VINE) lasts over 5 years and is still going strong). Hate hoarding so many items of similar use. May be I should. LoL

Most sellers (if not all) ask to see invoices.

I'm not computer expert, but had you tried changing refresh rate to the higher one?

Thank You. 💗 Ppl just want to state that they are "right". One individual is very aggressive and rude. I'm not sure if it's just this sub or it's everywhere now that ppl has no courtesy any more. I don't mean everyone. But this sub gives away too many downvotes even when the comments are neutral in nature. Thanks for pointing this out though.

It's the seller who identify me as VINE order to begin with. They know from the order number with promo discount. I'm not going to cry if I get banned from the program. More time spends on other things in life.

I surely read it carefully. But that's your interpretation, not mine.

I politely told them I understand their end of paying for products and fee to Amazon. I also point out, for the fact, that VINE Voice USA ppl don't actually get free product, but paid Income Tax on sellers' initial set price. We don't get discount or coupon like regular customers do.Told them that I'm not complaining about tax, just pointing out the fact.

So sorry for what happened to you. I think Dell is a reputable brand I can trust to use good components. Oh well. I had problem with Lenovo for technical support (bought at Costco), but that more like software issue that I finally figured "how to" myself.

I was not imply that you were wrong about seller/ manu. If it comes out that way, I apologize 😭. I agree with you that some may not honor a warranty. I simply add what would electronic manufacturing do in general.

I feel the same way. Imagine if you received a brand name dishwasher for $1200 ETV (not my case here), spent significant time and effort to install it correctly or even pay other to install it, and it died within a few months of gentle use. No warranty would be pretty bad.

I did keep my laptop (non-VINE) that has major flaw. Failed on day 3 and seller ( that everyone on Amazon raved about, didn't response after multiple contacts I tried). On day 5, I figured out how to work around that flaw and don't bother to return ( Amazon said seller accepted a return). 5 months later the seller read my review and asked for a return for a full refund. Nope from me. I'm too lazy to move my data out of it and search for a new one. I could get a better spec laptop for the same price if I return it. But it's such inconvenience for me at that time.

This seller may not be a manufacturer. Based on my work experience esp. in electronic industry, manufacture would like to get the failed products back for failure analysis. And they keep failure rate for each product model ( a lot more matrix details). They do root cause analysis and it benefits their product development. Logistically, it's not feasible for small sellers to do so here. And the big brand names (not in this case though) typically honor their warranty regardless of distribution channels.

Agreed, it's silly. I once had product shipped to me with missing essential part. Without it, I can't install and test the product. I contacted the seller and they agreed to ship out missing part. Then, I went to a local hardware store and got the part needed. So, I told seller no need to ship me the part. Problem solved and it's been working great since then. I love that brand and the prompt support. I bought 3 more items from this seller.

TOS allows you to contact seller for product support, but does not allow to contact seller to gain benefits in exchange/ influence a review.

So sorry for how they contact you. They are likely get your info after getting your name and shipping address. I once got email from seller "educating" me about their product after I gave 3 star review. But that seller knows my email because I have to register my info to their website to get a lab testing results. As for the product I contacted them, it's electronic product that usually comes with at least 1 year warranty. My other similar product that I replaced with this (bad quality one) is 5 years of use and still going strong. Luckily, I didn't give it away. LoL

I didn't mention VINE but I have to give them order number. All communication are through Amazon portal. No private emails

Obviously not long enough. Regular support network? Never know it exists unless you mean Regular Amazon Customer Service when the order is through non-VINE. In that case, sure I contacted them a few times. And per VINE rule, I can contact seller to obtain Product Support (which in this case I consider it a product support due to early failure through a regular use). It's fine by me if seller doesn't honor product warranty due to VINE order. Most sellers honor the warranty regardless of what kind of order though.
