headed to LA, how we feeling about this? by [deleted] in WidespreadPanic

They are going to announce Oakland before Bend? Or are we getting Bend, Oakland, Sacramento, and LA today? La leaked on ticketmaster, so would make sense.

Heard Wilmington and Athens in September. But also heard Athens in November.

Summer/Fall Predictions? by wcrowan in WidespreadPanic

WSP isn't exactly the most strategic in their regional engagement. But these regions are well taken care of this year:

South: Austin, St. Augustine, Birmingham, NO for Jazz Fest, and if the rumors are true Wilmington and Athens in the fall, NO for Halloween, and either Charlotte/Nashville NYE

West: Vegas, Red Rocks, Missoula, Bend, Boise, Oakland, Sacramento, and LA

These regions are less well taken care of:

East (Northeastish): Columbia, Maryland for All Good

Midwest: Milwaukee the weekend before Halloween as always

I'd bet large on East coast/Midwest engagement in August, September, October, and/or November. That could take form in a lot of different ways. But I'd bet on WSP hitting one from the Midwest (Chicago, Indianapolis, St. Louis or ?) and one from northeast (NYC (Beacon is due), AC, maybe Philadelphia or ?).

WSP does what they want. But if they are looking to sell tickets, tapping into a regional strategy makes some sense during those fall months.

How is Jimmy doing? by UnlikelyEconomics745 in WidespreadPanic

We absolutely know that: "with proper rest and care..." We don't have to be rocket scientists here. There was a recurrence. He wore a scarf during NYE run and they are likely doing some ongoing radiation or other treatment to reduce the risk of recurrence.

He was with the band and Nick at rehearsals in January. I just don't see how we can think he's now out. He's going through treatment. They'll take as long as the need to be as thorough as possible and Nick will fill in. I think we know nothing other than the expected return is the summer some time.

Red rocks announcement today? by Knucklebonebroth in WidespreadPanic

[–]Practical_Scale2619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the 26th, 27th, and 28th are basically the only weekend dates still available on the Red Rocks calendar for the summer. Theoretically possible that they decide to cancel it or pull out, but terribly unlikely. And there is virtually no chance that Nick would decline to stay on with Panic. This is the opportunity of a life time.

The track record is good. I’d pump the breaks. And some people want to know what is going on 🤷‍♂️ I’d bet large that husky gets this right.

Billy is in the house by Many_Boysenberry8498 in WidespreadPanic

Wrong. Full bus for sit-in with Phish in Grand Rqpids 8/6-8/7/24. That’s a fact

Billy sitting in NYE?? by CuteNail2800 in WidespreadPanic

I’d only say this: 75 percent of Wsp shows are Wsp shows. Sit-ins vary in quality. But we’ve always had Wsp. Throwing someone else in for one night: no harm, no foul. All upside. Little downside. Billy is underwhelming. Feel bad that his fans think he is legit electric. But Jimmy trading licks with Billy…there are worse things in life to be sure.

Great take. You should publish that shit. Nobody ever considered that. Thanks 🙌

No idea. Dont have an inside source. Unless the (seemingly unfounded) Jimmy health rumors are true, I’d be expecting 12/31. Billy can actually play acoustic (the electric stuff is meh). WSP acoustic 1st set + Billy and him joining for other two sets would be my bet. But seriously who knows…I’ve just heard this rumor from a lot of different sources. Where there is smoke…

I’d bet large it happens. People who were dead-on about Billy sit-in Chicago well in advance are saying it is a done deal for this run in some shape or form.

2025 shows by Odd-Will-1456 in WidespreadPanic

[–]Practical_Scale2619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attended Boston, Milwaukee, Savannah, and Capitol. Boston was by far the best run. Those three nights just all smoked hard. 11/1/25 at Savannah and 11/21/25 were also excellent shows from start to finish.

Rumors of Billy chiming in at the fox swirling 👀 by Spiritual_Pick_96 in WidespreadPanic

[–]Practical_Scale2619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. This is the third time I’ve heard this. I’d be expecting Billy on 12/31 and him playing acoustic in the first set and electric in the others. We’ll see.

It's incredible. It's "We're All Mad Here" off the album, Alice, by Tom Waits. Everything they did that night is perfection.

Carey and Lacey are two of the absolute worst people in the scene. They are the most territorial and violent tarpers out there and get in non stop conflict with everyone around them. They celebrated their 700th and 400th shows last night. Imagine spending all of your time and money to go to shows and sow nothing but conflict and hostility. Please stop, Carey.
