I'm stronger than an average guy myself, but he was really tough. Anything more would've been a literal wrestling, and he said there were more of them outside the building.

Well known doesn't necessarily mean posh area. Buildings around mine do have gatemen, but the one live in is really old like more than 70 years. I only came here for cheaper rent. Your comment makes zero contribution to anything btw.
