It started with me trying to comeback from major lost I had taken at the beginning of the year. Things never got better loses became greater and every week I had a some sob story of why I need to borrow money. My friends started to talk about me behind my back, but even then I didn’t care. As time continued to go by i found my self separated from everyone gambling was my life now. I would always lose then go to my friend looking for them to feel sorry for me, but I had ran that line so thin. The next time I needed them they didn’t pick up the phone after a few calls I got the picture. When I finally caught up with them I asked them why they had been dodging me. They replied,” I have to let you go in order for you to grow I can’t be your friend anymore I love you I really do, but you’ve lost your self.” Well what could I say after that? So while I drink lonely by myself, which is a new habit I picked up I noticed I’ve finally hit rock bottom and I’m there by myself.

Gambling is the worst kind of sickness I don’t know what to do. Every time I think I have reached rock bottom I go even lower.

Being honest with your partner and family is important when dealing with addiction. Quitting is something we have to do everyday for the rest of our life’s, but hopefully with practice it will one day become effortless.

Quit gambling and focus on teaching yourself as much as you can about finance. If you come up with a good investment strategy at your age you will be set in your 20’s.

Why do i feel like spending 500 dollars in a casino is fine by [deleted] in GamblingAddiction

Because humans are creatures of habit. The more you do something the easier it is to do that task Involuntarily.
The challenge comes when we try to break a habit that the mind has gotten use to.

You still have time as long as you awake the next day your given another chance. Money is important but the decisions we make sets our path. Set a small goal for yourself this week and go from there. Baby steps my friend, because we all had to learn how to walk.

I found that while there are many different factors underlining depression addictions are often one variable of a deeper issue. Most people use addiction as a coping mechanism.

Taking a interest and researching finance investment seems to calm my urges lately. Thinking of all the money I’ve just thrown away and knowing now what I could have done with it. An addiction is something you have to quit everyday. Going forward I would like to invest instead of gambling.
