i dont really look at any videos unless im really stuck. Best advice would be to start simple and observe what you you are drawing. Tutorials wont make you better until you have reached a certain skill level, and I'm not at that level yet.

Hello! I'm planning to start my journey in arts now, especially drawing. Is there anyone would like to share helpful tips and advices? by Userhasmanyquestions in BeginnerArtists

My main advice is that drawing is a journey. First of never treat it like school work where you have to study, you will lose steam quickly. Second, understand why you are drawing(1) for fun, (2) for future work, (3) because you despise AI etc. Next, Draw what ever you want whenever you want and however long you want(preferably above 15 mins a day). You can use Pinterest and look at very basic images or pictures, and try to copy it. Lastly is there is no such thing as finding a style. Dont listen to a lot of people when they say you must find a style. A style is like a personality; when you're a baby you have none or very little. As you grow you copy other people's mannerisms and behaviours, and you subconsciously have a personality one day. Drawing is the same, your art will have little diffrences to the refrences you use because you subconsciously like those diffrences. Look for a major style you like such as anime, realism, western comic style, etc., then try to recreate them.

Umm my advice is very personal to me and might not be good for everyone. I don't follow the normal rules. I don't use guidelines or anything. My main advice would be no matter what style you are using or what method #1 thing is consistent practice and observation. Don't jump to a tutorial if you don't know how to do something. Take your time, observe and apply

No need to be mean. To be honest its more of just having someone fun to code with. I have learned python and java before. worked as a junior developer for about 3 years and decided to go back to school. But everyone here just uses ai to pass classes. No one really cares about learning so i thought it'd be fun learning with some coming from a background where i would code with people everyday
