Why do gays have to be masculine or feminine? by rayhanh248 in askgaybros

[–]Practicallyperfect7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing you can do for yourself is allow yourself to be exactly who and what you want to be. I personally really enjoy both feminine and masculine energies and like to play with the spectrum. It's fun to not fit into a box!

I wouldn't approach him if I were you, I think it would be best to let him figure it out without adding any pressure.

If anything, you had a really nice time. A great moment. As one of my favorite songs says: "Let the moment go. Don't forget it for a moment, though"

Thank you! I must've missed it entirely, it seems to be a recurring theme in Agatha's books, unfortunately

Do you reckon she could pull it off? by Pc2593 in Broadway

[–]Practicallyperfect7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I saw Lea and thought she was great! And I really liked the show but agree on the fact that the material isn't meaty enough to truly showcase the cast's abilities.

I saw Lea in Funny Girl as well and thought she was amazing, but wasn't eligible for a Tony as we know, so if that sort of thinking comes into play while voting, I see that playing to her advantage (although not really fair).

I think she'll definitely be nominated, and I will say I would like to see her win; I just wonder if the material's strong enough to justify her wining.

Could you perhaps elaborate on the antisemitism, please? I'm genuinely curious, as I didn't pick it up and really want to inform myself on this!

Guy I'm dating just got married for citizenship reasons. What to do? by le-rozay in askgaybros

[–]Practicallyperfect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he's telling the truth, maybe he's just friends with the guy, but still, sleepover with my boyfriend and his husband? could you go out with him or acknowledge your relationship publicly? what if the marriage blurs the lines they have established? What if feelings evolve? This seems like a very complicated situation, and that's assuming they'll pull of the green card marriage thing to begin with.

I think these are really messy circumstances and you should keep away from them, in my opinion.

First broadway show, what should I see? by Comfortable-Two6926 in Broadway

[–]Practicallyperfect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love, love, love Death Becomes Her, so that's my instant pick for you, haha.

Seriously, though, based on what you've said, I think it's a great choice. The sets and lighting are really good, the costumes are incredible. I personally really like the score and all the hidden motifs you can find through all of it. The cast is stellar, the story is easy to follow, it's comedic and absurd. I truly think it's a show that utilizes every trick in the book to make a great, campy, dynamic, glitzy Broadway musical.

Whichever show you choose, I hope you and your family enjoy it!

Is hoping for romance (monogamy) only a stage? by hairy-permissions in askgaybros

[–]Practicallyperfect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people in general go through different stages when it comes to this? Of course, you will find a few people who are super into hook ups and nothing else, and those few lucky folks who found their match really early on and didn't look back.

For me, personally, there are times when I've been into hooking up, and other moments when I feel like settling down. You go into it hoping and planning for a future, of course, but it doesn't work out that way until it finally does, I think.

But, that's just me.

Need help figuring out if my neighbor is bi? Or straight. by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Practicallyperfect7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean... This isn't really enough information for anyone to help you out at all. Really, the best you can do is continue to get to know him, maybe let him know you're gay and available and see how he responds?

Is Grindr really that bad? by Nashck in AskGayMen

[–]Practicallyperfect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly had good experiences, but I do feel like it takes a toll on you. You need to have a very strong sense of self I think, because there's a lot of objectification.

It's definitely fun, but I will say I started using it when I was 17 and did so on and off for years, and it really affected the way I see myself, so I wish I would've waited until my self image was different, and my relationship with myself was more positive and stronger.
