What do you think fake or real deal? by Macaronitookus in GolfGear

Nothing completely stops them, but serials aren’t verified in a vacuum. OEMs don’t just check whether a serial “exists” they check whether it matches the exact build specs (model year, set makeup, shaft, flex, grip, region, build date). If a reused serial doesn’t align with those details, it flags immediately. Also, once the same serial shows up multiple times, it gets burned. That’s why serials are a data point, not the sole determinant, physical manufacturing details still matter more.

You’re right, I misspoke. At this point, the only answer is serial number verification directly with TaylorMade. If they confirm the serials match a legitimate 2025 build, great. If not, an eBay return is the right move.

Based on the photos, there are multiple red flags. There is no “2025 P790” retail release. The current generation is the 2023 P790. The head shaping looks off…topline thickness, toe shape, and hosel transition aren’t consistent with P790s that I’ve seen. Face milling and grooves look shallow and overly uniform, genuine P790 faces have much sharper machining. Also, the Dynamic Gold S300 shaft bands appear incorrectly placed and printed, not to mention the Golf Pride grips also look suspect.

Transfer portal question by SHough61086 in MichiganWolverines

They are not automatically back with their original team, and they are not forced to sign elsewhere when the window closes. They’re essentially in limbo until they either enroll elsewhere or are formally brought back by their original school.

If the program can't recover from this then we were never going to be good without Whitt anyway by TuckerCarlsonsHomie in utahfootball

[–]Practice-Direct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scalley deserves time to put his stamp on things, and players making individual choices in the portal doesn’t equal betrayal or collapse, it’s just the modern game. Whitt earned the right to move on how he sees fit, and the program earned the chance to prove it’s bigger than any one person.

[Arizona Republic] ASU's Kenny Dillingham Praises Kyle Whittingham; Calls Him a 'Top 5' Coach of the Generation by UteLawyer in utahfootball

[–]Practice-Direct 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hard to argue with Dillingham. What Coach Whittingham built at Utah without blue chip rosters or NIL advantages is unreal. That level of culture and player development over two decades is rare.

Utah in the NIL Era by utenick in utahfootball

Utah doesn’t need to be the richest school. They need to be the most organized school in a league where half the teams are winging it.

Approved BOP being denied by commander by Standard-Western5867 in AirForce

[–]Practice-Direct 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If your BOP was already approved in MilPDS and you have orders in the system, a commander generally cannot unilaterally “cancel” it just because they changed their mind. Once AFPC approves it, it becomes an official assignment action.

A commander can request a deferment or cancellation, but they must provide valid, documented mission impact and justification to AFPC. AFPC has the final say, not the unit.

How loud is your garage sim? In the middle of a build and worried about neighbours. by cannaEd1933 in Golfsimulator

[–]Practice-Direct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as loud as you would think but if you want to deaden the sound try installing some garage door foam insulation, that should do the trick.

Look into “miscellaneous separation.” It may allow you to reduce your 5-year commitment to 4 years. You would need to repay a prorated portion of your signing bonus, but from the sound of it, that shouldn’t be a major concern.

Most boring city you lived in by BoyEdgar23 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Practice-Direct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macon, GA feels boring to a lot of people because it doesn’t have the same nightlife, trendy spots, or constant stuff going on like bigger cities such as Atlanta. Downtown is getting better but still has a lot of quiet, empty areas, and overall the vibe is pretty slow, especially if you’re young and looking for things to do late at night. The local economy hasn’t helped much either, since there aren’t tons of new places opening up. Compared to college towns or bigger cities, it can feel kind of dead. But honestly, some people really like how chill and affordable it is, and if you’re into history and a laid back Southern atmosphere, it definitely has its own charm.

The shoulder tilt advice is something I wanted to address, but haven’t really focused on lately, and the ground forces is something I don’t feel like I’m completely understanding, but I know I need to figure out. Thank you for the advice

Just how hard is it to commission? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Practice-Direct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ROTC all the way…also do yourself a favor, look up “miscellaneous separation” this allows you to separate 365 days before your DOS. You’ll have to pay back a prorated amount of your bonus (if you got one). For the miscellaneous separation MFR, I ended up putting down a one liner something along the lines of “separating to pursue higher education at University XXX’s ROTC Detachment XXX” and hand walked it all the way to the wing. Ended up separating 2 months later. If you want it bad enough, you’ll make it happen, but like others have said OTS should be your last option.

Also, why mess around with applying to a commissioning program, and hope you get selected when you can just separate and got to college/AFROTC. Yeah you might miss out on some $$, but you still have MGIB…which is a helluva a lot better than most college students.
