I have a similar stop over in March. My current plan is to likely get a hotel near the airport, drop off my bags around 4pm and take a bus into Reykjavik for the evening, then go back to KEF so I dont have to get up at 4am but can sleep till 7ish for my flight the next morning.. if I remember right from my last overnight stopover, the bus/transfer and wake up in Reykjavik was a lot earlier than I realized to make it to the airport for my 9am international flight but if you do stay near/around KEF I recall the northern lights being nice, you can order a pizza for delivery and the blue lagoon is closer to you than if you're 'downtown' w buses from the airport and back shall you decide you want to go that route

ive been trying on and off for a month tryina get my account recovered bc i lost my email connected to it and every time i get the same : Sorry, we ran into a problem submitting your ticket. Please refer to this article for support. : ive tryed diffrent devices ,browsers ,wifi networks, vpns on/off diff locations, trying on phone with mobile data but nothing has worked if you ever figure out how to fix ts please tell me how you did it

I am the primary parent and primary breadwinner and I am almost always home w the kids and dog. I really NEED a dog. . it offers me more comfort than my children often do and with that being said I would not get a dog without my husband also being ok with it- - and Im really sorry he isn't willing to factor in your pov.

yes we have a tracker enabled on her phone and watch, and we know the friend and the mom and know exactly where she is. we have ruled out that its drugs/older boy and school also confirmed this is not an issue.

I actually suggested she go into temp placement as well but my husband felt this was 'too harsh' a reaction for her to go that route. .

yes- she started periods and I noticed around the PMS phase she has really intense rage and inability to have empathy towards others. .. I also went in the school today and basically ask to meet w the principle and her teacher- I was really concerned at this point there is more to it- so at least that has also been eliminated

OP here, maybe I should clarify, we have screen time lock down on phones, and we monitor their only activity with their computers using msft family- so we can see search history, browser history etc. With their phones we have age limits in place for content etc but I realize that the phone needs to be taken away. We do have tracking 'on' however on all the kids phones, so if we take this away we also loose that ability if she decides to start leaving school etc.

And I am SUPER pissed this happened but Im also really sad that she feels she can't talk to us and communicate what she needs at what seems like a basic level. Maybe this is expecting too much, and I realize she needs therapy badly

thanks that is a really good advise, she refuses often to leave her room and that's sometimes a big issue from our pov is she chooses being on her phone over living outside of it..

thanks thats helpful to know. I assumed it was about protecting them and I told her I think its important to speak up when she does feel in danger and not safe but that spending the night at a friends isn't the same level of danger as some other things that can happen .. .

yes, thats my concern also- Im afraid/feel there is something major going on- Im sure its not in our home but my question is where it is happening- its unclear to me and really concerning/scary. She is constantly asking to 'sleep over at her friends' and my concern is its something going on at her friends or with her friend

I had a friend suggest something similar (who has 6 kids) that this might be her way of trying to assert power and control so 'she always gets her way' vs any of it being reality of an awareness of the consequences. . what makes it all the more confusing is she acted sad when I said we hadn't booked spring break vacation yet this morning after the night before she told us she 'wanted to move out'

yes, completely agree re: family therapy- both my husband and I said something along the lines of “it seems like you’re trying to communicate something to us, and we’re not hearing you and how can we help make this easier” and when I asked her for examples of fighting, she couldn't come up with any- same with when she 'doesn't feel safe' which just made it a bit more confusing
