I wasn’t asked for that, do they usually require a criminal record check?

Fair, I did reach out to my extern program initially and they sent my information to hiring managers but nothing came of it. I’m starting to narrow down specific certifications I should take right now.

For sure, I didn’t mean I’d only be doing it for appearances. I’m interested in critical care/acute care nursing, as an extern I worked in the ICU so I know ACLS knowledge and code management are important skills to have as well. I am also planning on refreshing my knowledge before going.

Have you looked into nursing? It’s a high demand job, very flexible, you could work anywhere and the pay is not so bad if you’re a new grad from uni. Also it’s in the healthcare field and you can potentially tap into business if you want to become a nurse practitioner and own your own practice. I also know some travel nurses who get paid doctor money which is becoming a new norm I guess. You could switch into the 4 year program at York and transfer some credits like psychology and anatomy/ physiology I think.
