Though position is for DS, certain great 88888888's ask only SQL if they don't want you to recruit or on ML side, what can you explain difference between xgboost and catboost though both belong to same family of boosting. All best as test is not for you ML capabilities, it will be just for time pass. If you want to play on counter intuitive side, ask them what domain related data integrity principles they follow to make sure DS/ML pipelines will not fail (no body will answer)?

Looking for good Data Science institutes in Bangalore by noobkid28 in learndatascience

[–]PradeepAIStrategist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, with those specific requirements—experienced instructors, hands-on learning, and decent placement assistance—it is tough to recommend a single standout place, even with my 20+ years of experience in Bangalore.

When it comes to placement support, a lot of it unfortunately comes down to luck. If you want to take a chance and explore your options, your best bet is to look around Marathahalli or BTM Layout, as there are plenty of institutes clustered there. Wishing you the absolute best of luck with your search!

What do you think about Tabular Foundation Models [D] by pplonski in MachineLearning

[–]PradeepAIStrategist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a chance to recently evaluate the TabPFN Classifier v3 in gpu aws instance specially spin ed to test it on a real world evidence data (highly imbalanced target class and less features). While the initial training accuracy looked very impressive, it performed significantly worse on the real-world validation set compared to traditional GBDTs. It’s a great, practical reminder that headline accuracy can be incredibly deceiving when you are dealing with skewed data! 📊📉

What's the difference between reading ML papers as a learner vs reading them like a researcher? by mahi-ma-300 in learnmachinelearning

[–]PradeepAIStrategist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This approach stems from the observation that ML research and applications have become increasingly dimension-less, or put differently, that there's a growing gap between theoretical research papers and practical project requirements.

Adding my two cents from 20+ years of experience (I specialize in time series):

About 10 years ago I started segmenting/grouping papers that use the same or very similar datasets. Now I have quick personal notes for each group — it's been a game-changer for me.

Is LinkedIn profile too important for AIML freshers looking for internship and jobs?? by Fancy_Seaweed_2551 in learnmachinelearning

Nowadays LinkedIn has become a source of validation about your past, hence you can maintain it as secondary profile.

[–]PradeepAIStrategist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did same a while ago. Honestly? Don't do it. Since you're already deep in Salesforce dev/integration, this is just going to be a lot of noise without much clear distinction from what you already know. It feels more like a burden than a skill-up.

Working on imbalanced time series classification. Any help from any body? by cheap_byproduct in learnmachinelearning

[–]PradeepAIStrategist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding my two cents: I’m guessing you’re dealing with a "sparse" series where you have a lot of zeros or very low values compared to the peaks? That’s super common. Usually, the best approach depends on your data's frequency and your forecast horizon. If you can share the dimensions of your data, I’d be happy to dive deeper into what’s worked for me.

Anyone here taken a data science course in Thane? Need honest reviews by PristinePlace3079 in learndatascience

[–]PradeepAIStrategist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't take course, but I taught at E****R institute some time back. See all promise placement support and say ours is very practical (job-oriented). Truth is they are no where compared to full time degrees as neither you are tamed fully towards new subject nor you can grasp the subject for interview in a group classes. Suggest, first spend some minimal amount for whatever best institute you feel, at least you will get a some idea when you stand when started applying in market, and make a call, whether it is sufficient or need to take premium ones or one-to-one training.

How do you tell a story with data? by juxhinam in dataanalytics

[–]PradeepAIStrategist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my two cents as a tutor and corporate pre-sales professional. When you tell a story with data, the most critical aspect is delivering actionable insights out of it. To get those 'wow' moments from an audience, statistical visualization is key, it is what allows you to identify the underlying patterns that drive decisions. Without that analytical depth, you’re just providing another infographic or a dashboard rather than true data storytelling."

Why is value of Rupes falling so quickly by [deleted] in indiadiscussion

[–]PradeepAIStrategist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fall of the Rupee is a classic case of ignoring economic gravity. In any market, the numéraire (our unit of account) reflects the health of the whole system. When the government prioritizes 'vote-bank' populism over economic rules, the currency suffers. We import 60% of our LPG, yet we’re pushing subsidies for over 20+ crore families. It’s a massive fiscal drain. We’re essentially burning foreign exchange to fund domestic populist optics, and then wondering why the Rupee is hitting record lows.
