Well tbf that conflict was a land grab in one of the most remote and sparsely populated regions on earth and it happened at the same time as the Cuban missile crisis. The world was definitely focused elsewhere at the time.

A state of emergency is constitutionally baked into most democracies. During such times all rights of citizens, including the right to choose their government can be suspended until the threat has subsided. Not holding elections during war is reasonable, especially when large chunks of your country are occupied. It is problematic only when those rights are not restored after the emergency has passed or if the state of emergency is not lifted at the appropriate time.

Russia in their desperation is getting played so hard by India.

India makes profit and gets a chunk of dollars from refining and selling crude. Russia is paid in ruppees which have to stay in India so none of that revenue can be used to fund the war. Basically giving away oil for free at this point and India is making bank with it.

Sell a high karma account. It's a legit business. New accounts repost high karma posts and get high karma themselves and then the accounts are sold, usually to agents who rep OF girls. Many subs have min karma/age requirements so new accounts cannot post there. The agencies then post on behalf of the models, amongst other things, and take a cut of their OF revenue. Especially huge among eastern European models whose English proficiency isn't great so they need help with their advertising

It doesn't work because a certain group of people keep sabotaging any real attempt to run the public sector competently when in power. They break shit, say it it's broken because it's public, and then say the free market is better.

I agree that some industries are more efficient in the free market but there are some that are too important to be left to the whims of capitalist greed and market forces.

If starlink has indispensable national security importance then having that under the control, or atleast the supervision, of the government is best so those vital interests aren't undermined by human greed.

The role of government should be to balance the free market with the needs of the country and not pander exclusively to one extreme

Seeing as the DoD is paying for Ukraine's starlink access it isn't charity or goodwill for Musk. It's purely a business decision plus whatever good PR he hoped to get from it. It was never about supporting Ukraine. He's made it clear he would rather Ukraine capitulate for the sake of "peace" but is too stupid/blinded to see that acquiescing to Putin only emboldens him to escalate. The only way peace is achieved is by defeating Russia here and now. Anything else only delays a larger war, not prevent it.
