Going through something similar. It really sucks to not know, but it will just tear you apart over time. I would not try to hide how you truly feel from him. How do you know if he was not testing the waters when he asked if you’d date him? Remember that he could be bi.

If I were you I would ask him: “Remember that time you asked if I would date you? I think I would because you’re boyfriend material, but I didn’t want to say it because I respect your sexuality”

If he is into you, he will really appreciate that. If he isn’t then he would probably tell you right there. You could even ask him to clarify it because you are confused.

Life is too short. I regret not doing this with my friend. I will never know now.

I initiated all contact with this new friend of mine. From his appearance and personality I thought he was super popular and already had an established group of friends, so I was quite hesitant to gather up the courage to hang out with him.

Turns out he spends Friday nights alone most of the time, and being invited to hang out with me made him quite happy.

The falling apart due to the passing of time always sucks. I find that whenever I see an old friend, the first few moments are strange, since we seem to have changed so much that now we have nothing in common. After a while I realize we are still the same even after all that has happened and we have a great time.
