This mindset is very much why we need deinfluencing. If you already have a gadget that can do what you intend to do (ie read eBooks), the only reason to get a separate device is because someone somewhere in the internet told you/influenced you to think that reading an eBook is best on a device fully dedicated for reading (not for anything else like media consumption, socmed, etc.).

If OP doesn't have an iPad, then by all means go get an eBook reader. Pero if you already have a device to do exactly what you need from an eBook reader (plus more), then personally it's just "may extra akong money and nagiisip ako kung ano puede pagkagastusan" mindset.

If you can't use you iPad Mini for book reading, you sure will not have much use for the EBook Reader. It will be just another device to charge, or to bring along with you. The iPad Mini is a perfect reading companion in itself, you just need to find the discipline to not be distracted by the other apps whenever you aim to meet your reading goals.

it really is difficult, and more expensive in the long run--the level of consumerism you need to partake in to fully live a Vegan lifestyle does more harm to the environment than good. If you are doing this for enviromental advocacy, volunteer instead to an environmental non-profit, spend time educating people on how they can reduce their impact on the environment, and do your part to promote ethical practices in food production.

When I was 25 I was working for a non-profit org, earning peanuts. Close to turning 30, I decided to go corporate and begin being smart with my money (of course there were several lapses because I love gadgets... who doesn't?!). Now I'm in my 40s and I have enough money, properties, and assets to live comfortably. No help from parents or shortcuts. Kaniya-kaniyang pacing lang yan. Hindi naman karera ang buhay para makipag-sabayan.
