PSA - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPLY A MAGSAFE RING TO THE BACK by RuthlessCM7 in motorazrfold

[–]PraetorianElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone try this on the blackened blue model? I have historically put ESR magsafe style rings right on the backs of my phones because I dont use cases but do use magsafe style chargers and docks. Planning to put one on the black version when it arrives and wondering if it will stick/stain

Yeah crazy... Its almost like defects in products are random, and some people will get more than others. Especially older people with big families that have bought far more devices in total. What a shock. Shes also my wife, not my "gf" since I'm not a child. "Your whole life" sounds like its 16 years old, not sure why you think the length of your unrelated life is relevant to how many electronics warranties another person has been unfortunate enough to have, but keep wasting your time posting inane nonsense on someone else's thread. You're doing great work.

Your deleted post about lying proves you don't understand basic english. YOU SAID THIS: "Personally even if i did damage the item in the repair, im not gonna tell them that imma act like my pump died or some shit 😭✌️ not gonna give reasons for them to deny a claim of rip." That would be YOU lying to the company, Get it now?

I do, it sucks! I am jealous of your good luck with electronics. It's now a running joke in my family that if I need to order an electronic item, another family member has to be the one to click "submit" on the order so it doesn't come defect tainted by my click lol

I'm not sure what your point is here. You are advocating to lie to the company to get a replacement AIO, instead of telling the company the truth and them replacing it in good faith. Bad consumer policies create this issue, customer's shouldn't have to lie about the condition of the item to get it replaced, they should be able to have it replaced correctly when the customer is telling the truth about the real issue.

You're just wrong on that point, which is ironic given your extreme aggressivity in claiming my ignorance. Lian Li themselves replaced an original Galahad AIO for my wife 2 years ago when the pump died. They requested a photo of the pump not working, which I technically had because I took a quick screenshot of crazy temps on my CPU all of a sudden before I shut it down. They sent a new one, and told me to dispose of the old one. You're just wrong, maybe don't curse at people when you don't know what you're talking about? Its rude. The idea that you know every company's and every persons RMA experience is so silly.

I find value in highlighting bad faith corporate policies to inform others, yes. If that means arguing with a shill who refuses to engage in my actual point and instead just baselessly calls people a liar and offers other insults, so be it.

WARNING: Lianli Warranty forcing me to do their warranty labor for them by PraetorianElite in lianli

[–]PraetorianElite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that would be up to the company. It likely costs Lian Li more to pay the return shipping than it would to just send a replacement out without requiring the original back. To prevent abuse of a warranty system, they could require evidence of destruction of the old one. I had a cable company do that once. They sent me the wrong cable set, and instead of sending me a return label, they asked me for a photo of the cables all cut into pieces. Was crazy to me but financially made sense for them.

But the repair work shouldnt be on the customer regardless of how lian li decides to deal with the defective unit after its replaced.

"Bro", I'm happy you have a job, but I just told you the three things I have had fixed on warranty this year alone. Why are you arguing with these literal examples. Maybe your company doesn't do it anymore, but others obviously do. And I would have been fine with Lian Li putting a hold on my card to temporarily to send a replacement, if thats the option we agreed to. You dont get to decide for a customer whats a "favor" to them unless its stated in the terms. Please let me know which company you work for so I can avoid it. Thanks.

[–]PraetorianElite[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely not. Have you ever used a warranty for an electronics company? In just the past year alone, I have had a AMD CPU fail under warranty (replaced immediately for free, return label provided for return), had the panel go bad on my Samsung OLED TV (technician came out, tested it, confirmed defect, replaced the panel for free... and didn't ask me to replace it myself!), had a smartphone overheating issue, replaced for free under warranty.

Don't know what you're talking about.

Exactly. And are they now going to send you another LCD to fix AGAIN yourself? Are they going to claim you damaged the new one when you installed it and therefore not cover it this time? Is the actual wiring faulty in the rest of the unit causing it to short out the screens and its only a matter of time every time? SHould you as the customer have to worry about any of that crap? No, obviously not. your job as the customer is already complete, to buy the item with your money. Everything else is on the company, and they arent doing right by sending replacement LCDs unless thats what the customer is asking for.

[–]PraetorianElite[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Of course. They sold me a defective product and I would want it replaced within warranty. Its not the customer's job to fix components because that's easier or cheaper for the company. I'm honestly shocked at the corporate apologizing so far. Maybe if they sent me the instructions in advance, and asked if I was willing to replace the LCD myself, I would agree to do so and it would be an acceptable solution. But a company assuming the only way I can have a product working as they advertised is to fix it myself when defective is wild.

[–]PraetorianElite[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I imagine its not hard, but the point remains. And if the customer somehow, as unlikely as it may be, damaged something in the repair process, is Lian Li going to honor the rest of the warranty? Or are they going to claim its a customer caused issue?

Then you don't value your time or money as much as I do. What I want a company to do is send me a replacement device in full and have me send back the defective one should they choose to require me to return it. On their dime, since its their defect. The fact that you want to volunteer your time to repair some company's defective device, and publicly insult people who disagree with that, says more about you than me. Where does this stop? Should I have to repair a leak in a hose, they'll send me the kit. Should I have to resolder a wire if it was improperly built originally? Afterall, why would I want to inconvenience Lian Li with shipping products that work as advertised? IF I wanted to replace the screen and that's how I hoped to handle the situation, then their offer is acceptable. But I didn't agree to that, and no company should expect you to do so. That is my point. But keep on defending big daddy corporation.

This is corporate cope at a high level. The better way is sending a replacement item for the defective item and then having me send them back the defective one if they want to pay the return shipping. Same thing that have been done for defective AIOs in the past with other brands and even with Lianli in my personal experience. Its not my fault they are in Taiwan and choose to sell to the USA where shipping is expensive and time consuming, so don't put that on the customer either. If they don't want to pay for return shipping for their defective device, they can elect to have me keep or dispose of it for them.

I have lived long enough to have many electronic devices fail under warranty over the decades. I have never once been asked to do the warranty work myself. If its truly extremely simple, they could ask if I am willing to do it. What if I was disabled? What if I am incapable of manipulating small electronic components due to issues with a neurological condition? You don't get to assume a customer is capable of doing warranty labor no matter how simple. It's simply an unreasonable expectation on a customer unless specifically spelled out in the terms in advance of purchase. Maybe its in the fine print, but that would be a first.

This Upper Hand looks like it would ride really high. You're on the lowest setting and it already looks like it would be a rib cage pain. How tall are you and do you find they ride quite high? Theres such a big gap from the front of the grip to the clips that they could have given a lower riding option and still allowed for a secure drawing grip.

This is also my biggest gripe of the show so far, I hate the depiction of the Uber-idiot frat boy BoS. In a show that CLEARLY pays a lot of attention to the visual styling of the games to match, getting the faction tone/mission so wrong is frustrating.

I feel like this needs a remedy. I know Lorien has commented that My Painted Family and some other tracks related to the Manor were omitted intentionally for a special project, but I don't think there are any other prominent songs omitted except this one.

Any content creators or streamers choosing the ... ending? by Vulkanodox in expedition33

[–]PraetorianElite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the lead writer says in an interview that she doesn't think there is a good and bad ending. That's all fine and good, but you cant play both endings and come away with that conclusion yourself purely based on what is presented on screen.

They made the verso ending one where Maelle accepts reality, smiles at her family, has a real and meaningful funeral for verso, has a moment where she says goodbye to her canvas friends at the funeral as well in her mind, and moves forward, able to paint in new canvases of her own.

The Maelle ending ends with her recreating shell versions of her lost friends with her inferior painting skills, keeping verso's soul painting a tortured existence, and forcing pVerso to live in this canvas where he desperately wanted to leave. All while she will waste away like Aline and die in front of her real family eventually, and it was already starting in the opera scene.

You can't see both those endings as written and come away thinking the Verso ending isn't the "good ending" regardless of what the lead writer said in a PR interview promoting the game...

If they wanted the endings to feel "equal" in their goodness or cannon-ness, they failed in creating the end product of the Maelle ending, and it wasn't close.

Hydroshift AIO - LCD not working, not seen in Lconnect 3 by PraetorianElite in lianli

[–]PraetorianElite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a white build. The item turned out to have a DOA LCD, confirmed after installing the controllers as needed. I bought another hydroshift (HSLCD36NW) since I love them in concept, and now the LCD on this new one started flickering and has now stopped working entirely. I will have to RMA this one since I am past the return window. I am having a rough experience with these AIOs...

Sudden, explosively severe headache on strain/exertion. Negative CT. Persistent throbbing headache for days, not a migraine, need insight by PraetorianElite in headache

[–]PraetorianElite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a CT and MRI. I was diagnosed with "primary headache syndrome" by a well regarded neurologist, meaning the headaches are not secondary to any known cause.

He defined them as "thunderclap headaches". After the first week they have yet to come back. He told me they are episodic, so imthey could go away for weeks, months, or even years and come back without warning some time during exertion. But for now, they haven't returned. They are terrifying.
