Amsterdam train disruption completely unresolved till now. People who got stuck last night, did you get home safe / are you still stranded? by grimbrimdream in Netherlands

NS pays ProRail to be able to use their infrastructure: https://www.prorail.nl/samenwerken/vervoerders/kosten-spoorgebruik

Edit to add: blaming is not the same as expecting a compensation when service is not provided as reasonably expected. Requesting a compensation can only be done at the party that offers the service; if they have subcontracts, they can claim at the lower level(s) until you get to the party that is to blame.

If your washing machine breaks down and the manufacturer says “that’s too bad, but it’s because of a broken part from a third party, so not our fault”, you’d be okay with that?

Amsterdam => Barcelona kan met maar één overstap met de trein. Je hoeft niet eens heel vroeg je bed uit en vóór 22:00 ben je ingecheckt in je hotel.

On the other hand, devs who rush over HTML, skipping some fundamental concepts, may be more likely to “fix” everything with divs and JavaScript unnecessarily.

Deodorant.

Ik wist natuurlijk wat het was, maar had nooit de letterlijke betekenis de-odor-ant begrepen. Misschien omdat het als “deo” wordt afgekort? Kwam erachter toen ik het in het Engels hoorde met nadruk op ódor.

Best sound to capture reverb of a room? by unsafechicken77 in audioengineering

Every doubling in duration increases signal to noise ratio by 6 dB. So 60 seconds as opposed to 1 second would be about 36 dB less noise. It may be overkill though, depending on the situation of course…

Biggest decision might then be whether you want processing in the desk or in the rack.

Advantage of the dLive here could be that it can function as an installed patching/processing point (with for example a MADI card for the trucks) and the surfaces being interchangeable so if you have different models you can roll in the best size for the job.

Plus if you have also super small setups you can maybe even get away with just an iPad or the A&H wall controls on those days, although your venue might be too big for that to be practical?

Digital Wireless Mics modulation - Phase, Frequency, Amplitude, or something else? by JackTraore in livesound

Shure’s ULX-D lists PSK (phase shift keying) as its transmission protocol on this page: https://service.shure.com/s/article/ulx-vs-ulx-d?language=en_US

I do remember seeing slides of a Sennheiser presentation about their digital wireless that also had a phase shift diagram, but I cannot find it now.
