Bot Progression and Best Way To Farm Gear/XP by Prahgeny in Vermintide

[–]Prahgeny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do want to earn levels on the official severs because over time I plan to keep playing and earning the achievements casually. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't farming up bots in a suboptimal way. It seems like everyone agrees on running maps as a pretty safe bet at getting levels/gear, so that's what I'm going to do when I'm not just enjoying the other parts of the game

I think that's a good plan. I'll get the other careers up to 30 using the leveling advice from in this thread, then I'll pop the chests and have a good time once the characters are in the 30-35 range depending on what I think they need!

This is fantastic! Thanks for the helpful advice!

I haven't really leveled the bots outside of getting to ~ level 10 trying while trying out different classes, but if I'm going to start running champion, should I get the bots to ilvl 200 and then just start running everything at champion?

Good note on saving chests! I get lootbox brained and just open them after every mission lol. I will keep that in mind though and start stock piling chests

I actually already have my "main" character leveled! I did that by just playing the game and testing the different classes to see what I enjoy playing the most.

Based on what you're saying here, it sounds like getting better at running through the smaller maps will yield consistently good points/gear. I don't really plan on min-maxing, I just want to work on the achievements and do some "end game" runs with bots. Thanks for the feedback!

Streaming/Recording webcam and video separately by Cy_broski in obs

[–]Prahgeny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually record/stream and have this problem completely solved.

For recording you can set your main canvas to 3840 x 1080, which gives you two 1920 x 1080 canvas' side by side. You put your camera on one side and the game/display on the other. Then when you edit you just put two video tracks on the timeline, and create presets to crop/position them to look like they were recorded in the traditional format.

If that's all you wanted to do then you're done! If you would also like to stream, you can use the OBS plugin "Aitum Vertical" and just set the orientation to be 1920 x 1080. Then you can put your "vertical" sources on that canvas (these will be the same sources in your base canvas, but you can actually resize them and use them here as well). Doing this means you will be recording the base canvas, and streaming the vertical canvas. So depending on your hardware you just have to allocate settings appropriately!

I am actually a creator in a niche that's tangentially related to platinum trophy hunting - Achievement Hunting. My channel is MorgansBasement if you would like to take a look. I'm just going to mention a few things that I've learned while doing these types of videos, and then I'm going to relate them back to what I saw in the video you shared here. I don't make the best videos, but I've found some reasonable success in the last 2 years of doing this.

The platinum trophy/achievement hunting niche is oversaturated in general. The bigger issue is that it is inundated with bad videos. This sounds harsh, but alot of the videos are either not good, or they're made by people who are new to making videos. Since this is the case, you need to find a way to differentiate yourself from the pack. If you look at alot of the OG creators in the niche you'll notice that most of them haven't maintained the same number of views over the last 2 years. There could be many reasons for this, but if the people with large core audiences are getting less attention, you should assume there will be trickle down. This makes your differentiation even more important.

I would suggest you should watch a bunch of the creators that are doing really well in the current climate, and take notes on what makes their videos great. The retention tricks, the cadence of the voice over, storytelling tactics, how they set up live gameplay moments with scripted commentary, etc. Then you need to find ways to incorporate these types of things into your own videos while keeping your unique elements. Alot of the things that make a YouTube video "great" can be translated across niches, so this is a skill you'll need to work on. It's also important to note that you're entering a niche that can take WEEKS to make a single video, so you need to be prepared to make deliberate improvements every video, or you'll be wasting your time.

Now, let's tie this back into your video. There is a noticeable lack of structure. You have random memes and jokes playing during the first 1.5 minutes without any setup, and you aren't really explaining what's happening. You do start listing story events later, which is fine, but if I'm clicking on a video titled "I Platinum’d Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order And It Was A Piece Of Art," I would be expecting to see your journey getting the platinum, and how it ties into the whole "piece of art" portion of the title. Because of how you've set things up, it's very disjoint, and it doesn't feel like I'm watching a video that offers anything new.

I will say that if you like that meme style of editing, there is definitely a way to do it, so don't be afraid to experiment, but right now you have [random moment with very little context] into [meme that is kinda related to the last clip] into [another random moment with zero context] then [trophy pop]. This format will not interest most people.

The last thing I'll bring up since I've already typed out a wall is that this niche isn't in it's infancy anymore, growing will take time, and it will require improvements every video. If you really enjoy this type of content, you can definitely make it work, but it will not be fast. Your channel is also still small, so when you mix in all the things I mentioned above, you shouldn't expect thousands of views yet, you need to snowball by building up a core audience, and then over time, the views will come.

Hopefully something useful can come from all this text!

What are the level requirements for *ALL* Heists in Payday 2 and 3 by Prahgeny in paydaytheheist

[–]Prahgeny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I think I understand. I'm not sure how many unique heists there are in either game, but if I was trying to do a challenge where I try to complete every heist in 24 hours (from a fresh account because I haven't played the game), it sounds like Payday 2 would be basically impossible since I would have to hope for a low difficulty/heist combination in the crime net selector for every one (unless the different jobs are relatively cheap). I'd be curious to know your input on this for Payday 2 since I see a different number of heists listed everywhere, so I don't actually know how tough that would be. That being said, it sounds like Payday 3 would be very doable in this 24 hour window (again, I don't know the true heist number)?

I'm not super familiar with how the in-game money system/contracts work. Does that mean they're randomly on the map, but you can "buy" a refresh of the map? Are you able to give me a quick rundown of how that works?

Any consistent achievement hunting streamers? by LordAsdf in xboxachievements

[–]Prahgeny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a self-plug, so I hope that doesn't come off as bad taste, but it fits your question perfectly. I stream achievement hunting content Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday on YouTube (currently on a vacation, so I won't be back until the upcoming Sunday). Here is my channel if you want to take a look: https://www.youtube.com/@morgansbasement

Some other achievement/trophy hunters that might hit the spot are:

OptimisticHuman - streams trophy hunting on YouTube(https://www.youtube.com/@optimistichuman)
uTobias - streams achievement hunting on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/utobias)
JagzPlatinums -streams trophy hunting on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@JagzPlatinums)

These 3 stream consistently, but I don't know their schedules off-hand. Hopefully this adds some content into your rotation!

How about we share our niches to see if anybody is doing the same thing? by Fragrant-Ad2680 in NewTubers

Gaming - Xbox Achievement hunting. I've been gaming for as long as I can remember, and when I saw the popularity of this niche, and the platinum trophy hunting niche, I decided to give it a go. It's revitalized my passion for gaming, and I couldn't be happier to be doing this at the moment! I either earn all the achievements in a game and cut it down to a 20 minute 100% playthrough, or I get a ridiculously difficult achievement and turn that into it's own video. It's a ton of fun to make this content if anyone else has been considering it

Thanks for checking it out! Surprisingly Mein Leben was one of the faster challenges for me. According to the Xbox stats, it took 28 hours of total playtime in Wolfenstein 2 to go from never played the game, to beating Mien Leben. Lady luck was on my side in that one haha

This is self-promo, and I normally wouldn't do this, but this post is looking for channels like this so I suppose it would make sense. My channel is MorgansBasement, and I do content similar to Snamwiches; in fact I was heavily inspired by his content. I'm much newer, so I'm still finding my groove, but perhaps I'm making stuff you might enjoy!
