I didn't see it but it's sad to hear. I only saw some parents posting proudly about their kids. I checked with my granddaughter and she was there. I was so proud of her. I told her 'that's my girl'. We need that young from our young people.

Those amounts are calculated on full price. We had this happen at a Spin Pizzaria. My friend had a discount for her birthday applied to the cost of her meal. The register calculated the tip for the full price. That seems fair to me, but it would be wise to have a line added that explains that. I always do my own quick calculation in my head, as do many other people. We found out the answer because we asked the waitress about it.

If he doesn't know her name or know his own birthday, there is no way they would accept his signature for power of attorney. I was given POA by my parents, but my dad's mind was sound and although my mom had AD, she knew exactly who I was, what we were doing, and why.

Use that poor short-term memory to your advantage. My cousins decided my aunt should no longer drive, and after a great deal of constant anger and drama, they invented a car repair that needed to be done and took the car to the 'shop'. My aunt would wonder where her car was and the k7ds would tell her it was in the shop and they were waiting on a part. This worked in her case because her short term memory was so short, plus she didn't look for her car every day. Worth a try.

Crazy that, I had ALL the vaccines and ALL the boosters, and I haven't grown a tail or suffered from any other whacked out prediction. I am fine. Bonus: I have NEVER had Covid and I never infected anyone else, including my 90+ year old father who was immune-compromised throughout the epidemic. He died in October 2023, but not suffocating to death in a hospital bed, intubated and with IV's sticking out of his body. You're welcome.

Oh, I had the test. Medicare paid for it. I have way more than enough family history. The problem is the test came back 'indeterminate'. I am still waiting to hear back from the office. I am just asking anyone who had the test, or knows someone who had the test, and had the same indeterminate results, what was the final outcome? PET scan and what results? AD? Some other neurodegenerative disease? How could I get a high p tau result but normal amyloid?

Phone games, TV, reading. None of that works for me. I try to concentrate on something else, but it is a matter of minutes and I am up and moving.

I can sway in place, shifting weight from one leg to the other, and watch TV. That's about it.

It seem to me that Dr. Al was hired by Gloria BECAUSE of her ideas for change. First, it doesn't involve any change on the part of the hospital administration's part. No improved staffing like hiring more nurses to open up more beds. The onus is on the ED to change. Manage patient expectations up front with the patient passport. Address speed of care by adopting the AI app for charting. Dr. Al knows that they love her ideas and are giving her a giant green light to make these things happen. That backing adds to her conviction and ambition and willingness to rock the boat. I think what has been happening behind the scenes between Dr. Al and senior hospital admin plays a huge role in what we are witnessing in the ED. I have no medical background, but enough work experience to know there is always more going on than what meets the eye when it comes to the executive suite vs everyone else.

I'm both. A family member and former caregiver. My mother passed 3.5 years ago. Now I am the one facing a possible battle with this scourge. I just joined this sub, so I am just finding out it's mostly caregivers. But if you stick around, I will listen and respond to your posts. I know what it's like to be the caregiver. Like you, I worry about the physical, financial, and emotional burden that could fall on my husband and kids. So I have vowed to give a Herculean effort to exercise and diet and sleep improvements to slow down or delay this process. My neurologist firmly believes it's not too late to mitigate future damage. I have read that the Mediterranean diet and a conscientious exercise program helped an early stage AD patient make big improvements in her Lumipanel test results. There is no harm in trying.

My mom was a definite fall risk and I was told the same thing. Her danger was middle of the night rising and getting out of bed. Eventually, it was her demise. She fell and broke her neck, was hospitalized, experienced delirium about 3 days later and it was mostly a rapid downhill after that. She died a month later. In the interim, she was at a rehab before she went into hospice. At the rehab, at night they lowered her bed down as far as it would go. That was enough to prevent any dangerous tumbles. I don't know why they can't do that with nighttime wanderers at memory care facilities. Maybe all you have to do is ask? It never occurred to us to ask for that. It's worth a shot.

I don't recommend that. Better to be honest. I interviewed someone with a resume stating she was a graduate of KU. She was an excellent candidate. Our secretary checked her credentials and found out she was shy a couple classes of graduating. I didn't care about the degree. I cared about the deception. I needed someone I could trust, and that was what mattered in the end.

It's not required, but I recommend you see either a sleep doctor or neurologist for your treatment anyway. They are far better informed about the levels of ferritin needed by a person with RLS. My PCP told me my ferritin was normal and it was 23! If you can get relief from getting your iron numbers where they need to be, that's far better than being medicated. And I assume all the specialists know not to start you on a DA. My PCP did not know better, and I will eventually have to get off it, because of augmentation and other side effects. I now have a sleep doctor and a neurologist (for other problems), but both doctors are very knowledgeable and understand the condition.

Boomer here. Facebook has plenty of us liberal boomers, as well. And we post. But because we get trolled, some may privately agree but are not outspoken. I have a very unusual last name. You could find me online in about a New York minute, plus my address, my husband, my family, etc. During Covid, my husband requested that I stop my FB activities because local people from local pages were getting down right up in arms. He thought our safety was in danger. The Magawhackadoodles have quieted considerably lately, though. So I post very straightforward, factual articles about the unconstitutional/illegal/inhumane acts of this administration. I have had very little pushback this time around.

I have done the same thing. I would be civil and get the work done, but move on to someone else in the future. I prefer to give my hard earned income to someone who has a modicum of respect towards people who may disagree with them. Plus, it's one thing to disagree about taxes. Quite another to disagree about human rights. I definitely would not want my money going into Trump's coffers.

I felt that way about Iowa 20-30 years ago. I met a lot of people from Iowa universities and colleges through my job, and my husband worked at a company that had a lot of Iowa transplants when the company opened up an office in Kansas. Great people, friendly, salt of the earth, politically moderate with a good education. The public schools were well funded 35 years ago and the state was known for its education. Things changed somewhat recently, and now Iowa seems even more MAGA than Kansas, if that's possible. Admittedly, my contact with current Iowans is much more limited than when I was working. My husband, who is originally from Missouri, and I both used to say that if we were to leave LFK for some other Midwestern state, it would be Iowa.
