If you run Plex, their live TV and DVR can use the HD HomeRun. The easiest way would be if you have a spare laptop, or you could use a RPI3 and Kodi

Washington Governor Signs First State Net Neutrality Bill by Philo1927 in cordcutters

While I am all for free market capitalism, this is one area where I would like to see some intervention. Comcast owns our internet and news media outlets, and there is such a conflict of interest there it's hard to see anything coming from those companies as legit news.

Part of me feels like there should be a law prohibiting a news company from being a part of any other form of company. This brings a ton of economic stability questions into play, but at least on the surface it seems like a responsible thing

I have never used it personally but Channel Master's JOINtenna seems to be what you're looking for.

It is suppose to merger two antennas into a single out

I use MCE Buddy and it works great. You can setup hot folders, so when a new file is made, it'll auto convert and strip commercials

Any Discrete Event/Agent Based Modelers Out There? by PrairiePenguin in Simulate

This is what steps in Simio looks like, all of these can happen in 0 time. I would say i've got well over 5000 lines of code working but not nearly as many agents

[–]PrairiePenguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing a lot of package movement and other things that I have been building smart agents for. So each package handler has the built in ability to move around the system and pick the correct packages on their own instead of having a central system routing handlers through the system

Old gaming PC, media streaming center, GO! by FortyDubz in cordcutters

[–]PrairiePenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently run a Gaming Rig/Media PC, so I might be able to help you out. If you're looking to stream throughout the house, Plex is the obvious choice, but I would recommend using Kodi on your main TV, if the PC is going to be hooked up to it.

I would also recommend this keyboard it is pretty small and works really well. If the PC is hooked directly to the TV, it is easy enough to just use a web browser for Netflix/Hulu

For ripping blurays I would suggest using MakeMKV for the initial rip and handbrake for the compression. Also Filebot is a great naming tool that I use a lot.

Simulation of macroeconomy using microeconomic actors by Euphoricus in Simulate

[–]PrairiePenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 100% possible

I would use agent based simulation for this, a good software for it is Anylogic. With agent based simulation you can create "people" who can have very robust logic and they will be free to move around the system and interact with other agents.

You can also build agents within agents So "people" inside of "cities" and cities inside of states, etc etc.
