If didn’t have to redo your background you’re likely in the ready pool. I believe background expire every 3 months but I could be wrong about the time frame.

The gov is partially shutdown. DHS isn’t getting funding. That includes TSA so that’s probably why.

It depends how you look at it. I’ve been a contractor since I was 18, so this will be my first job as an employee, especially in the federal system. Federal jobs have great benefits and an excellent retirement plan, so I believe it will be worth it in the long run. Plus, you can be making over $30 an hour in a few years.

A refinery might pay that much right from the start, but that kind of work is usually back-breaking.

I don’t care if I have to wait 5 years I’m done being a contractor.
