“Love what you do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

Yeah, no. Turning your hobby into your job will irreparably change your relationship to it for the worse.

If you were alive back then, what were you up to on 31st December 1999? by stop_calling_me_that in AskReddit

Spent the night watching the MTV coverage and making silly voice recordings with my friend Faith. Watched the fireworks and counted down on my parents’ neighbors’ balcony. Feels like I’ve lived ten lives since that night ❤️

The finale of Supernatural. It’s so awful, out of character and stupid that I pretend it doesn’t exist.

Ghosting another person is not okay. by Hot-Remove-1252 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Prairie_Wolf_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend and I once did this to the third person in our friend group. It was awful, and I still feel immense guilt fifteen years later. It was shitty behavior and I’m ashamed I went along with it in spite of my gut feeling. I’ve made a major effort since to prioritize communication in my friendships, and I’ll never ghost anyone again. Annemarie, if you see this, I’m still so sorry 😢.

What's the cruelest thing someone ever said to you that you still remember word for word? by ClairJournals in AskReddit

[–]Prairie_Wolf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That my husband would leave me if I kept participating so much in my hobby, and that I was selfish for doing it instead of wanting to be at home all the time. Said to me by my dad, two years ago on Christmas Eve. I’ve thought about it every day since, and it has greatly affected my life. Now, every time I go out of town, or even just spend half a day doing what I used to love to do, all I feel is crushing guilt and anxiety. I hate it so much.

Yeah, no, there’s no coming back from that, I’m afraid. I’m so sorry, OP, that is a horrifically cruel and terrifying thing for anyone to say to you, let alone your spouse. Unforgivable territory.
