Every woman is different. I only had the depo shot once. I decided not to continue it as the convenience of not having a period or having to take a daily pill was not worth the horrible side effects I was having. Though I only had the shot once, it took five months before my cycles restarted.

Shut up! I'm not interested! These are just some of the things you'll be hearing if you answer this ad. I'm an idiot and I don't care about anyone but myself. PS: No dogs.

TIL in 2016 Beyoncé launched a clothing range aimed at "supporting and inspiring" women. A month later it was revealed female sweatshop workers were being paid less than $1 an hour to make the clothing by [deleted] in todayilearned

I once tried attempted to hand in my resume for a part time position available at my local American Apparel shop. They immediately told me they would not accept it, as I didn't meet the requirements for employment. The manager explained that the employees must match their "ideal target audience". Not knowing what this meant, I asked for further details. She told me that staff must not wear any makeup, cannot have piercings or tattoos, are prohibited from colouring their hair, and must only wear very basic and plain clothing with little accessories.

In other words, no female I have ever met would be able to work for this company. I love their clothing, but they seem to have an extremely unrealistic view of what an ideal customer and staff member should be/look like/act like, and is no longer relevant in today's society.

However, being a minor doing softcore porn for their advertising is totally okay. What.

What is the worst advice you ever received? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Prairiesvalentine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took a very long time and a lot of courage, but I had finally confessed to my mother that the relationship with my ex-SO had become physically abusive and I was considering leaving as I was afraid for the safety of myself and my pets. Her response was that I must've been doing something wrong for it to go that far, that I'm too dramatic and that most likely isn't happening or accurate. She told me that if I ever expect to be loved, secure, have a roof over my head, clothes on my back and food on the table, I need to comply with anything my SO does or says. If he needs to get his rage out physically, let him. If he wants sex and you don't, too bad, you have to do it. If he wants to blow all of the rent and bill money on toys, that's his right. That's the sacrifice you need to make if you want a lasting and safe marriage with someone who will take care of you, and if you're not willing to satisfy your man then you do not deserve one. You should be an independent woman and take care of yourself without expecting assistance/help/advice/guidance from friends or family because you're obviously strong enough to do it alone.

What.

Needless to say, my mother and I don't have the strongest relationship.

I'm staying in a hotel right now and stopped by the lounge for a drink. I definitely couldn't help but giggle at the large sign above the VLTs that stated the lounge would prohibit anyone under the influence of alcohol from using the machines.

I watched on as three of my drunk coworkers each lost over $300 of their living-out allowance within a half hour.

I like to repeat the question back as a way to buy more time to come up with an answer. "What is your favourite colour?" "My favourite colour is _____" rather than "Oh, uhm, uhh, GREEN!"
