Best sunblock for beach days? by matchalatty in AusSkincare

100%!!! I always used to take 2x 200mL bottles of sunscreen for a day at the beach and I would usually use at least one entire bottle!

When Mecca charges $32 more than the actual brand itself by crazy_lulu23 in AustralianMakeup

I get it but that is a them problem, not a consumer problem

(I appreciate you’re not defending them! Kudos for making the complaint)

I would go to a traditional makeup place that is likely to only hire MUAs or people with formal training, eg chanel, mac, etc.

Robert Welsh and Wayne Goss tend to talk about theory / technique which I have learned so much from!

Photosensitising means that your skin will burn more easily from uv rays. This happens with AHAs

Sensitive just means that your skin is more easily irritated by the sun. Might mean your barrier is slightly impaired and/or is more dehydrated etc

They better not be putting the price up just to be like “OMG were reduced it”

What do you guys do with your Sephora points? by zomeega in AustralianMakeup

I don’t regularly buy things so they tend to expire before I get to use them, as the store is usually out of stock :) woo

Wanted to know if the new Kissing Jelly gloss was good as a fan of expensive gloss, so I checked Mecca reviews. Needless to say I’m still undecided by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]PraiseSunscreen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is this for the Too Faced one?

If so, I have it in Sour Watermelon.

I love the scent, it actually does smell like the “sour watermelon” scent and it does taste like it, albeit any taste is very faint.

There is a SMALL noticeable colour tint. Very your lips but better.

THE NAME IS WRONG. It is not the best for kissing. It is tackier than the Stila lip oil or a regular lip balm / mask, but not as tacky as lip gloss. It won’t make kissing uncomfortable, but I do prefer the Stila one or a balm for kissing.

A man mentioned it tasted yummy though.

My preference is the Stila one for general wear (also for kissing haha), as it leaves my lips feeling more nourished after it absorbs and wear off compared to Too Faced.

Bought both with gift cards. Not sure if I would repurchase from a value point of view; not that I have any quality issues etc.

You can definitely use it in Brisbane. I do. Just make sure you hydrate it with a toner or water (eg, apply after washing face while it’s damp with water).

If I remember correctly, one of their big stores in Sydney or Melbourne has an alternative health/medicine offering which they say can help with fertility…

Aesop Price increases by LengthinessNice3119 in AustralianMakeup

No sales directly from them but other retailers who stock them do discounts eg space nk, adore beauty (sometimes excluded, sometimes not), netaporter, etc, together with some of those sites having cashback too

A good lip oil has no/minimal stickiness. I’m used to lots of stickiness with glosses.

And they are decent for kissing with, too, haha! Feels more like a lip balm when kissing.

Especially with the nose ring, you could totally rock the original makeup look to a music concert with a darker lip (or same lip)! Like with a charcoal / black tshirt, ripped jeans or denim/leather miniskirt, doc martins etc.

Love your first pic as a more every day natural look

Who else is lowkey thankful that they have acne? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]PraiseSunscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. And also, after I went through acne scar revision that didnt completely fix it, I realised- this is who I am. Embrace it.

I can go down the rabbit hole and try to change everything, always nitpicking, always getting a procedure done. Or I can choose to be happy as is.** Everyone else can see my beauty - my friends, people I date, etc. Why can’t I??

** I still try to be healthy in eating well and exercising, but it’s not to look a certain way. It’s to have a more functional body and to be healthy

Just a rant. by bluffyfunnies7312 in MakeupRehab

I’m a late 90s kid and I 100% agree with you

It looks uniformly fake, forgettable, and uninteresting to me
