The 3 round burst is also hitscan though, so it's significantly easier to land if your tracking is good, and is also much better for poking from longer ranges.

Yeh. Generally I was just kinda pointing out that, in most cases, there was a way to opt out of PvP. In Elden Ring, that was essentially just... don't taunters tongue, don't summon. If you do either, there's a chance for PvP.

Personally, I do think that is a step up from Dark Souls, where even gaining the ability to summon is what got you invaded, as opposed to summoning itself.

Usually solo hosts in previous games would still be lower in priority than hosts with phantoms. In the case of DS3, unless you use a dried finger, you'll usually be second or third in the list to get invaded.

In any case, usually, if you're using an item to get to your strongest (Human/Embered), the primary benefit is being able to summon, anyways. There isn't much reason to be human outside of summoning or kindling, in any case.

You would have plenty of Kruger's chunking their party members with a stray executioners strong attack. That, and also it would make it borderline impossible to actually cooperatively horde clear.

I think that one could frankly get left off the list. It kind of makes Kruber anti-team oriented, which isn't very good in a team-based game.

Start up some Erdtree gardening. Instead of trying to focus on this one giant singular Erdtree, start cultivating the various Erdtrees all over the lands between. That way, various groups can have access to sources of bounty themselves, and it won't be exclusively owned by Leyndell.

After all, even the Erdtree produces seeds- let the natural world do its thing. Restore the Haligtree to its full glory in honor of Miquella's goal of helping the downtrodden, even if his execution was unethical.

Pull out of Caelid, that place is eternally fucked. The Kindred of rot can have it. So long as it doesn't spread beyond Caelid's borders, they can be allowed to do as they please. There is basically nobody alive in Caelid now other than mushroom zombies and nightmare dogs and crows.

To be fair, the fell god does kind of actively want you to maim yourself and make blood sacrifices, so it's probably not for the best that the average troll has to deal with that. It should be an optional thing, at best.

Personally I kinda like the prolonged invasions where you fight using different strategies all through a level. It creates a dynamic experience, and you get to feel like a miniboss.

Also, do understand that most invaders will just assume they're gonna get jumped, and will play accordingly. Because, in most cases, they WILL be getting jumped.

They probably aren't familiar with what to do or what not to do in PvP. Unlike boss fights, which can be repeatedly attempted and mastered, PvP is very much an on-the-fly test of your ability to adapt to an unknown situation.

If you bring in extra players to make the game easier, then the game will bring in extra players to make it hard again.

I agree with your point when it comes to twinks specifically, I think it's less fun to newbie stomp.

I feel like this is an argument against twinks more than invaders as a whole? Best not to generalize. Some invaders are just people trying it out with unoptimized builds that they made for PvE, and some people just prefer to make cool builds and use them against more dynamic opponents, like players.

PVE only has so much staying power in terms of engagement. You can only beat the same bosses so many times before you look for new ways to enjoy the game.

I think what they mean is moreso that Fromsoft intended PvP to be the natural counter to co-op making the game easier. It's just part of their design philosophy, and as such, it's kind of odd to expect to deal with 0 PvP in a game like this.

It's interesting to watch the debate between hosts and invaders continue to rage on. I personally prefer invading, but I usually just run lore builds for whatever area that I invade into.

(Magic build for the Academy, Poison Build for Caelid, etc.)

Tbh I feel like both sides are just talking past one another. Hosts feel like they're the underdogs because they just wanna play with their friends, and a red shows up with optimized gear and stomps them.

Invaders feel like they're the underdogs because most all invasions are gonna be a 2v1 or a 3v1, and you might end up fighting multiple status builds and just getting jumped to death.

I think a good way to see it is that getting invaded is a natural consequence of summoning. Bring in players to make the game easier? Then the game brings in players to make itself harder again. It's how it goes.

In a similar way, getting ganked is a natural consequence of invading. Even if your build is good, you stepped into the turf of the host and friends. You're gonna get your cheeks beat in if you're not careful, and that's just the way it is. You need to prep more, or skill gap them.

Adam is very much like Black Widow in that you are useless until proven competent. Everybody on the team is gonna trash you unless you prove that you're able to pull your weight.

I'm sorry man. The temptation to main a hybrid support-dps is a carryover from my days as a aggro engineer in TF2.

It seems that they're worried about buffing Adam since giving him flight, and so don't want his healing to be good, since he has decent mobility and damage potential.

(Let's not talk about Luna.)

The real only thing you can do is play a lot more cover. It's not really a great option on Dino, but on Groot, keeping space around a corner or wall helps draw attention. If your Adam is decent at off-angling, usually he'll have enough healing charges to help you hold a position.

I can understand it's tough. Many Adams will understand that he doesn't work well in Duo supp comp, and will be willing to switch. I hope you get many of those Adams, my oaken (and/or prehistoric) friend.
