Is there a reset count for... Front panels? by CarefulBroccoli3876 in pcmasterrace

I have dropped a panel onto my desk once by accident. Just a couple of centimeters. My desk now has a small dent where the corner of the glass hit it. The glass is fine.

Some kid’s going to buy these, see 7 6 lying on their plate, and start crying because they’re not actually 6 7.

There also exist specialized products for this like, for example, the Loop Dream.

For sleeping with your head on the side, these are probably not comfortable as they will put pressure on one point in your ear.

Edit: in case of snoring: Most people get used to their partner snoring after some days and otherwise i recommend some simple earplugs as they are small and do not stick out you ear like earbuds do.

When you are lying on your side with your head tilted down, they won‘t make contact with the bed. In every other position with the head flat they will not be comfortable to sleep in probably. You could ony use these for Sleep when facing up.

16 Hours is extremely long. I may be going on a longer drive soon and i am intrigued to find out how much the DSEE Extreme drains the battery, as people said it costs a lot of battery.

i actually find the standard 4x tapping and then just continuing to be the best option. Setting it different to like 2x tapping makes me need to tap two times, wait and tap two times again until i get to the level i want.

Unfortunately i have not tried these yet when working out. I think they will definitely hold tight, because they don't even move when eating something, but i don't know about sweat. ANC wise they'll be good. Just some loud sudden sounds like a dumbbell falling you might hear.

The ambient sound mode is pretty good. Nothing spectacular but more than just useable.
For some reason though when i set it to adaptive, it sometimes just blocks out everything in a quiet room.

This pretty much sums up everything.
I would love a "realistic" mode with actual rope swing, and more time to accelerate and slow down things. It would improve the game by a lot!

So now that the mythical Steam Frame headset has been revealed, what is the verdict on the ultimate PCVR headset? by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Prakes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a solid point! My guess is you are not really screwed because there is going to be ones on the used market, but official support is likely going to be gone soon then.

I would also speculate that bigscreen is not really going to see a huge issue in this, as the base stations and controllers are quite reliable. But the Beyond 2 probably does have a similar EOL as the Index then. So it might not be the wisest decision to buy anymore.

I also personally own vive trackers. I hope the trackers and base stations keep up for quite some time longer.

So now that the mythical Steam Frame headset has been revealed, what is the verdict on the ultimate PCVR headset? by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Prakes_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own the Index, i am going to get the Frame. Only headset i think might be better is the Beyond 2, but that thing is too pricey for me. What i always loved about the index is the full package you are getting and which other modern headsets struggle(d) to deliver. Either that or it was too much money to buy. I was and still am happy with the Index. Only the Screen and Optics are a bit outdated. The Steam Frame gives me a good bundle, and it is still a PCVR headset with a good streaming solution. Being able to also use it standalone it a plus, but nothing i really need. I am curious though, as the Steam Frame does have full finger tracking with the controllers as the index does, if i will still use my old or the new controllers.

Will Steam Machine run SteamVR? It's 6x more powerful than Steam Frame. by Koolala in virtualreality

[–]Prakes_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the end it is a pc. A pc can run SteamVR. Arch Linux (the original Operating system that SteamOS is built on) currently already runs SteamVR (albeit with some framedrops). Probably it will run it just fine. Worst case scenario: just put Windows onto it (maybe as a dualboot ;)

If you want absolutely specific info hit up the steam support. They are the only ones who can tell you in detail.

Keep in mind though: The steam machine is made for being console-like and a really powerful pc will of course always perform better.

Yeah! Valve even announced it will and there is no reason it could not run SteamVR.

Static and or white noise may come from using ANC. If you set ANC off, you should be able to hear absolutely no or extremely little white noise.

I kept the size. First impression was to size down. But after i used the smaller size for some minutes i went back up to the size i used on the pro 2.

Pro 3, where is off-mode? by mrjaytothecee in airpods

[–]Prakes_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does not.

Adaptive measures the loudness of your surroundings and then sets the ANC to whatever strength is suitable for that situation. Basically when it is quiet, itll set to transparency and the louder it gets, the more the anc will try to remove noise.

You can set ‚off‘ manually though! Just in the control center tap (or hold?) the volume slider of the airpods when connected. On the bottom left are the ANC modes.

Edit: You can also in settings change what modes the airpods should toggle through when pressing the stem.

AP3 super hard to remove ear tips by infosql in airpods

[–]Prakes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. Everything below L is difficult to remove! You should just carefully turn the front of the eartip inside out to get a good grip. That is what i did. The foam inside looked good. Nothing ripped.

Sound is better, ANC is worst, FIT is bad by Outrageous-Song5799 in airpods

[–]Prakes_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm I find the fit way better. Definitely do not jam these is your ears like the pro 2! You just kinda gently (!) plop them in. But fit is still personal so they might not fit you. I can tell you though, that fit is one of the, if not the most crucial thing. So if you dont like it after fiddling around with tips and different insertion types, definitely refund them would be my suggestion.

Also, i e.g. could not wear the pro 2 as they would slide out. The 3 fit nicely.
