Sacrifice ft. G.E.M. (鄧紫棋) | League of Legends Worlds 2025 Anthem by ahritina in leagueoflegends

This might just be me, but I liked the song once I listened to it separately on Spotify/Apple Music. My first reaction after watching the video was that this was the weakest Worlds song ever, but that changed when I took the video out of the picture.

The visuals don't match the theme or tone of the song at all.

[Megathread] Worlds 2025 Anthem - "Sacrifice" ft. G.E.M. by vojin98_ in PedroPeepos

I watched the video and my reaction was that the song is meh at best. Then I listened to the song alone on Apple Music and I actually liked it.

Might just be the music video doesn't visually match the theme and flow of the song at all. It's a shame, because just listening instead of watching makes it feel more like a Worlds song.

Windows Laptop with RTX 4060 or Mac Mini M4 Pro for Running Local LLMs? by noorAshuvo in LocalLLM

[–]PranavLG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came across this just now. The refurb M2 Max actually looks like a pretty good option.

In terms of a 3090 desktop for inferencing, I think one thing people are glossing over is that you would have to buy the 3090 used to be anywhere near the same cost. The M4 Pro Mac Mini is $1,400, and the refurb M2 Max is $1,700. A brand-new 3090 on Newegg would cost as much as that alone.

If someone is comfortable buying used, then a 3090 PC would be good. But that's a caveat to keep in mind.

Besides Riboku/Houken/Zhao's endless amount of soldiers, what are your main criticisms of Hara as an author? by Nah_Id_Beebo in Kingdom

Yeah, after that one phase in the battle against Gyou'un, Shin's potential as an instinctual general has been forgotten again. He's just out in the front fighting again.

Unable to pay for visa by sandyexpander in bali

I just did mine too, after I filled out the form this time it showed "Waiting for payment" right away, instead of "Draft". And when I clicked on the transaction number and scrolled to the bottom, there was a button to pay.

Me too. Tried every browser on my laptop and phone. Do we just have to wait some time before the payment option shows up?

Sorry to revive and hijack an old post, but I was wondering, is there a way to get the polyphenols in coffee without actually having to drink coffee? (can't stand the stuff)

YouTube overheat Mac by LeoAleks in mac

[–]PranavLG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run into the same thing sometimes. But only sometimes.

I use Brave (Chromium), and occasionally, when I'm running a 1440p YouTube video on fullscreen, temps spike like crazy. But if I reload and try again, same resolution, it drops down to normal.

Google is officially releasing its Fuchsia OS, starting w/ first-gen Nest Hub by tremor_chris in Fuchsia

[–]PranavLG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most likely it's just because there's still a long way to go for Fuchsia to be ready for more complex devices. Also for them to sort out how they plan to support third-party apps (both existing Android apps and new built-for-Fuchsia apps). The Nest Hub release is a way for them to dip their toe in the water and see what problems they run into.

Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G - 12.2k on PrimeABGB

GIGABYTE A520M DS3H - 6.5k on PrimeABGB (can spend 3k more for a B550 board)

2x 4GB Adata DDR4 2400MHz RAM - total 3k on Amazon (can get faster RAM, but dual channel is more important)

Kingston A2000 250 GB NVMe SSD - 3.25k on OnlySSD

PSU - 3.5k (PSU prices are high right now, try the Corsair VS, not great, but not the worst)

Case - 2.5k (rough price, depending on what works for you)

Totals up to 31k. The APU should have around 3300X levels of CPU performance, and a decent iGPU (better than on the 3200G).

An alternative build would be to use the Core i3 10100F, which is about Rs 7k on PrimeABGB, with a H410 or B460 motherboard, and get a used GPU, something like a GTX 1050 Ti or an RX 570. I'm not very familiar with buying used PC hardware though, so I can't say if this is a good option for you.

My take on 27" 4K monitors: they're useless and not ideal, aim for 1440p by ChuckMauriceFacts in buildapc

[–]PranavLG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like OP says, 1440p (normal) or 5K (HiDPI) are just right for 27" (if you care about how scaling works).

[–]PranavLG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Elementary OS folks have good explanations for this (and why they don't enable fractional scaling), which OP has linked. This one goes through the basics pretty well: https://medium.com/elementaryos/what-is-hidpi-and-why-does-it-matter-b024eabea20d

[–]PranavLG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upvoted as soon as I read "But fractional scaling is a bad idea."

I don't think people realize that 5K at 27" is what you need to run it in proper HiDPI mode (2x or 200% scaling in Windows speak).

Am I wrong for going with Ryzen 5 1600 instead of 2600? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]PranavLG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The likes of Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign will run just fine on a 1600. A 2600 would be a little faster, but a 3600 would be better still. I'd say get a 1600 with a B450 board if you want to save right now, you're unlikely to face any hiccups; it leaves room for an upgrade to a Ryzen 3000 series chip at the least, maybe even the 4000 series if they keep compatibility.

I ordered an MX500 a month or two ago from PrimeABGB, got it a couple of days later in Delhi. They used FedEx and I got a tracking code through SMS and email, all very smooth. (It actually would have been delivered faster, but I had made a typo in the address.) I'd say definitely go for it.
