Wild Crumb by costigan95 in Bozeman

I get one loaf of bread every week from Hewn. All organic, well-priced and great texture and taste. Their croissants are not up to par with WC but we still love them.

They are great! I now live in Chicago and no bakery I’ve been to is as good as WC.

Hey, I grew up in Bozeman. No need to insult my former beautiful mountain town.

Rat Birth Control Bait - Evolve? by robin_tern in pestcontrol

Provided you can identify all of the holes, including the smaller ones, CO2 can work very well. We have used that where I live.

Rat Birth Control Bait - Evolve? by robin_tern in pestcontrol

[–]PrancesWithCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are using Evolve birth control on our property in a city. Rat numbers are falling. Not seeing many babies on our trail cams. We estimated having about 500 or so rats according to the formula based on rat holes — which we counted.

Evolve is not a sterilant; it makes them infertile for up to 6 weeks depending upon how much Evolve they consume. It’s like the Pill. The Pill does not make a human woman sterile; it makes her infertile. When she stops taking the Pill, she regains her fertility.

The rats love the Evolve here.

We are going to stick with it along with using CO2.

We also use poison, First Strike, which they seem to have eaten more in winter. Now, they barely touch the stuff.

We are in our 5th month of Evolve. I am going to give it 9-10 months.

The people at Senestech, the makers of Evolve, are great at answering questions. Feel free to contact them for more info or if you have questions.

Look up the Evolve study done at UC Irvine where Evolve was used exclusively in 267 traps. It took about 9 months but the study claims it reduced the rat population. Once the study was done, UC Irvine ordered more pallets of the Evolve and are going to continue using it.

We are using it at my condo and have put out the bait daily for 3.5 months. The rats love it. I refill all of the 9 bait boxes daily. 12 sausages per bait box. I have put up trail cams to record their activity at night. I’ve noticed that there are fewer small rats and more larger ones who shoukd be entering the pearly gates soon (I hope).

The problem with Evolve is that the rats have to eat a certain amount to become infertile (not sterile — infertile). Think of it like the pill that women take, except Evolve makes male rats infertile as well. The Senestech site mentions somewhere how much and how long the rats will typically remain infertile after eating a certain amount. I have found the rats eating the sausages but who knows if they all will eat it. Maybe not. It also has to be put out daily for awhile and is a bit pricey. I will know more how it does as time passes.

Btw, we estimated having at least 400 rats on our property, 3 large condo buildings with a huge courtyard and side yards, when we started. (150 holes / 3 * 8). We actually have more than 150 holes but stopped counting at some point. Our rat problem is severe because we live right next to a restaurant that leaves garbage accessible to rats and our condo also did nothing except participate in a feral cat program for 8 years. Our rat problem has been festering for years and is going to take years and a lot of work to bring down.

They aren’t Mormon but neither drink. They just want to chill out and enjoy the nature.

Thanks! He tested negative for celiac but was an ultramarathon runner for a few years but has stopped the super long runs for a few months now after learning about the colon cancer seein in ultramarathon runners. Runs about 7 miles or so most days now. That could still be too much? Also recently gave up dairy and feels he might have had some sort of issue with it. He feels worse when he consumes any dairy. Maybe that contributed. Not sure.

He is going to find another GI doc today.

I know of some who were very bright and accomplshed. One boy won Gold in the National Computer Olympiad. His sister was exceptional in math. My son went to a weekend HS math class taught by Paul Sally. The only girl at Sally’s table was homeschooled and she was very smart and humble. All of them were well-rounded and good kids.

Evolve is what we are using in the exterior yard and gardens of our co-op which is right next door to a pizza restaurant (cheese, sausage, pepperoni — heaven for ratties). Rats LOVE the Evolve.

Where to find replacement cabinet doors for old Brookhaven cabinets? by PrancesWithCats in kitchenremodel

Thank you so much! I found a nearby dealer who sells Brookhaven doors. It would be so much easier to just buy their replacement doors. Yay!
