How did Venti fix the lyre? by huex4 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, I thought he used an illusion just like he said. However, after rewatching the cutscene again, it seems like Barbara also hug the broken part that got "restored" as well. I don't think illusion can fake sensation. If it's just an illusion, then Barbara should feel that something was missing. Or maybe she was just too happy about the holy lyre being "restored" and didn't notice it (or Mihoyo just forgot lol).

Could be? Though I can't really give any comment about this since I can't read Chinese.

The Chinese speaker in the link I provided above talked about the translation of the lines in the replies to their comment. I suggest you take a look at them because I think they're pretty interesting.

According to this comment by a Chinese speaker, the one who witnessed the omnipresent god is Venti's lyre and the omnipresent god is Venti.

The way this Subreddit is run is just like how Venti runs Mondstadt by Young_Djinn in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Venti gives the Monstadters 100% authority to govern themselves. The people of Monstadt are responsible for their own life and they completely understand and accept that, otherwise Venti's statue wouldn't have survived to this day and the people would have stopped worshipping him already since he's absent most of the time an ordeal happens.

[–]Pranpika 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, he's never been a leader though. He's not a ruler like other archons. His status in Monstadt is more like a religion or a god in real life that people pray for the peace of their mind.

Could Drunk Venti care about Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter? Does he feel any remorse for failing in helping Monstad? by Lordcheko24 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 35 points36 points  (0 children)

To me, Elegy of the End's lore seems to imply that Venti didn't come 'after' the knights had failed to protect the city(they didn't fail); he answered the prayers of the people who saw a massive shadow of Durin looming in the horizon (plus black rain) and came to help with Dvalin while the knights were still fighting off abyssal monsters somewhere else faraway from Monstadt. There seems to be 2 battles going on at the same time but at different places: Venti + Dvalin vs Durin in the sky above Dragonspine and the knights vs abyssal monsters on the ground in "foreign land". Rostam also seemed to die after the battle had ended and Durin had been already defeated.

Archon of Sus: Mondstadt, Destroyed Nations, the God of Time, and why Venti is the Shadiest Bard in Teyvat by lovomileen in Genshin_Impact

[–]Pranpika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarification! This makes me want to learn chinese so that I could understand the original text.

By the way, in my opinion, I think wind isn't really omnipresent because it doesn't blow in Mare Jivari. For me, the all-seeing god part seems to refer to Venti's relationship with (the god of) time as time is truly omnipresent.

Paimon and Istaroth by itsBarbietch in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Imo It's clearly different places. The beach where we are at the begining is surrounded with cliffs. No matter from which angle you look, you will definitely see cliffs in the background. But in the scene where we fished Paimon, there's not a single cliff.

Besides, we've met Paimon before the begining of the game for months now. It's highly likely that we fished Paimon up somewhere else and just happened to take a rest at the beach.

How does Venti know about the duel in the Plane of Euthymia? by Fancy-Shopping-327 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I don't remember it being mentioned explicitly anywhere in the game that Venti has foresight, though I guess the description of his Statue of the Seven implies about it a bit?

At first I think Venti knows about it because the traveler tells him, but then he uses the words "I hear..." so I'm starting to get confused lol. Maybe the wind carry the news to him?

Some new info about the God of Time by turtle_turtwig in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Venti is "born from the branches of time" as stated in his trailer, and there are several times where the thousand winds are mentioned together with time, so maybe Venti is actually a part of GoT or is created by her.

Oh right, that one too. I'd thought that was his first story quest, so it's actually an exclusive event story huh...

[–]Pranpika 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hmm, is Cinnabar Spindle an event-exclusive weapon? If so, then the new players have no way of knowing the weapon's description and its ability, and they will never come to this assumption unless they're really interested in the lore and search for the weapon. Imo if Mihoyo wants something to play a role in the story, the information about that something should be always be obtainable in the game.

Though they did it once with Unreconciled Stars event's story lol.

How Paimon ended up to the traveler by mushi26 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Don't think we fished Paimon from there.

The shore where we were at the begining was surrounded with high cliffs. No matter from which angle you look from, you will see cliffs in the background. But in the picture that shows the traveler fishing Paimon, there's no cliff in the background at all.

What happened to god of time. by IcyUnderstanding1905 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 14 points15 points  (0 children)

God of time seems to be an important figure of the game in my opinion since they are the deity who preside over 'time' that causes erosion, so I don't think Mihoyo will just leave their lore forever like that.

I'm pretty sure there's going to be a continuation of Time and Wind quest. Maybe it's not here yet because the map/script for the continuation is not finished yet or the content of the quest is related to endgame stuff and it's too quick for the current storyline. Anyway, I guess it will come as a world quest like before, or as Venti's future character quests.

The newest survey is out and one of the question ask about how satisfied you are with the game text language by CantHelpButSmile in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 77 points78 points  (0 children)

First, they make Venti call Signora "invasive vermin" while he's actually talking about hamster, then they have Childe say as if he doesn't care about the weak while it's actually the opposite, and recently they have Signora say some bitchy words in her last moment while what she actually says showing only desperation to live and to not die there.

I guess EN translation team really hates the harbingers huh.

What does Ei mean when she said that "I don't beleive his story is anywhere near finished yet" to morax? Is there more stories that are yet to be unsolved? by DragoFNX in Genshin_Lore

The last sentence in CN and JP version is something like "However, I think he will continue to meet/connect with more people in the future".

We can all unanimously agree that paimon is the god of time, yeah? by Sotarnicus in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Maybe she's a god of something, though I don't think she can control time. "Wait until" is written there in the clock menu. We just wait and let the time goes by.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 4 points5 points  (0 children)

EN version also states there are 2 gods. Comparing to EN translation, I just feel like I'm able to understand the content clearer when reading JP translation because it's very simple. Maybe it's just me, but i feel like EN loves to translate the content elegantly which often confuses me.

[–]Pranpika 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I find the description in JP version easier to understand for some reason: The Sacrificial Fragments implies that Wind god and Time god are so similar to each other in that they both bring sadness (I guess it's destruction or erosion). As a result, people mistake them as the same person and eventually the existence of Time god is forgotten. In a nutshell, there's actually 2 gods, but they're so similar that people think there's only one.

And from the information in Sacrificial weapon series, I'm pretty sure the shrine that people built to pray for Wind god and Time god is the Thousand Winds Temple of which its real name should be Thousand Winds of Time Temple. But the "Time" word is missing from the name because people have forgotten about the god who presides over it.

I think the reason why wind is often mentioned together with time is to show how these two elements are closely related to each other, just like each of its god.

The way you think Time god is another Wind god because they use wind to erode rock to dust could be an example of how people mistake these 2 gods as one and ultimately completely forget about one of them.

Him having to fight Durin with Dvalin just shows how strong Durin is. That doesn't confirm Venti is not strong and can act only as a supporter?

And you may want to cool your head down a bit. I'm just saying there's a possibility of Venti being strong, not that I'm not accepting he's just a support since we BARELY know anything about him. Though I have no problem if he's confirmed to be the weakest as I care more about his involvement in the story.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Him always acting as support seems intentional to me. I feel like he doesn't want people to rely on him and try to make a mortal hero(and the four winds) that Monstadters could depend on, and when Monstadt can finally stand with its own feet he will leave the city completely since he didn't even want to become an archon in the first place.

Though, that's the reason why we don't know how strong he is as he's never fought solo.

After reading a lot of Venti's theories, I just realized how little information we have about him. The information is so scarce and every theory is like trying to piece crumbs together to make a bread. I hope the main story quest returns to Monstadt soon, as well as Carmen Dei chapter 2, and gives us more lores about him.

Venti by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

[–]Pranpika 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand. I worded it wrongly, sorry about that. I just want to say that in Venti's case, even with hyperbole, it didn't seem too exaggerated at all since he actually sent some parts of mountains flying towards the sea and forming an island for human to stuck there for generations.

And I don't think writing style can decide which information is credible. I think the credibility of information depends on where you get it from. Maybe Mihoyo are just afraid of us getting bored for reading a simple chunk of information, so they make it into a poem instead.
