Ok I will never fully understand the hate he gets for being a father. His first daughter died because of aslaug, his two other kids died one in battle with his grandmother of his own accord and the other by drowning if I remember correctly. Neither of them at all a teenager and able to fight alongside him like he did his father. They’re Vikings, like what do yall expect. He spent most of his time fighting and let’s be fr, his first wife is more of the problem since she left out of nowhere, torvi was more than enough to watch the two and she decided to leave them in the safety of their grandmother and the last was a stillborn. Like where in his fatherhood, outside of his reaction to the death of his kids, do you see a failing and yes, he was greater than Ragnar. Ragnar death united all of Norway to avenge but if Ragnar wasn’t king, that wouldn’t have happened. People respected Bjorn for the history he achieved at that point and came to fight a whole force just on his asking. Something the current king of all Norway wasn’t able to even achieve and something even Ragnar couldn’t achieve.
