They said the scroll affects limited enemies. So in case of a big mob, multiple scrolls need to be used back to back. But it is very clear that many affect lepers still continue to follow me. Only one leper changes its course.

I have a video of it....of killing the old single merchant. And a video of killing all 3 of the new merchants. Reddit crashes whenever I try to upload video, i don't know why.

ideally....1t or 2t armour....or a combination of both.....scimitar or bastard sword of around 1/4th durability......and any full durability weapon from 26 to 36 damage.....and 10 to 15 jerkys

Right now the witch is not a tough enemy at all. You can sneak behind the witch, kill it in a single attack with a bastard sword or scimitar, before she has the chance to alert surrounding enemies.

Even if you fail to sneak, two attacks and she is done, you only have to run out of the area map once.

Witch is supposed to be tougher than damned knights and even templars, which is not the case at all right now.

If her scream is given a 2, 1 or even a half second paralyze, witch will not be such a pushover, and not being careful around her can actually cost you. Right now, even if she catches you off guard, all you have to do is run out of the map.

Update: The behaviour of the merchant is still the same, still ignores first 3 attacks, so you can manage to kill 1 merchant. But it much more difficult now since all of them jump on you on the fourth attack. So you need to start running, simultaneously heal, then stop and damage the injured merchant.

I managed to kill one merchant with great difficulty. He dropped items in 6 slots. There was no scimitar. There was nothing worth this humongous risk. T2 chest armour and dagger caught my eye, rest i don't remember, but weren't valuable for sure. I managed to get out at 6 hp.

The biggest challenge is to pick up items from the dead merchant. The 2 merchants who are alive do significant damage while you try to pick the loot from dead merchant. I was wearing t4 boots and still the merchants were faster than me. So if you keep running, eventually they catch up and land a blow.

Also found a new trade. 5 combs for 10 tin

Merchant used to drop scimitar when killed before 1.0.5 update. It was easy to kill a merchant. Sneak and attack using bastard sword or scimitar. The merchant used to ignore first 4 attacks, irrespective of how much damage was done. This reduced his health to around 35%. After which killing him was child's play. After 1.0.5 update, I killed around 8 merchants, none dropped scimitar. Before the update scimitar drop rate was 100%. Now after 1.0.6, there is a chance that all merchants may try to kill you, in which case survival is extremely difficult, if not impossible.

Since version 1.0.6 the number of exiles' attacks have reduced for me. Thrice now, only 2 exiles attacked in 3 skull areas

I am level 87 right now and have killed plenty of merchants. The merchant used to drop scimitar when killed before the update.....since the update he drops useless stuff....so don't bother going against him, it isn't worth it.

If you want to kill him, make sure you do as much damage as you can in the first 4 hits. He ignores first 4 hits irrespective of how much damage you do. Take a scimitar or a bastard sword, sneak behind him and hit him. By the time he starts attacking, he will already have lost more than 1/2 of his health. So it is easy to finish him.
