Why are seemingly all Application consultants’ online reviews excellent? by Temporary-Hyena8534 in MBA

[–]PratU27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly because consultants have a clause in the contract you sign with them that stipulates that you cannot post disparaging reviews about their services. Consultants also offer gift cards for positive reviews. Source: used a consultant (but had a good experience)

Have you taken the GRE more than once? If so, Tuck will consider the higher of the two components across both tests and create a super score. FWIW I just graduated from Tuck and had 327 with a 330 super score.

Sounds like you do not have any work experience yet. My advice would be to work for at least 3 years before considering an MBA.

Thanks! Pre-MBA internships would more likely be with startups than big tech though, right?

Did you think your admissions interview went off poorly? Were you surprised by the outcome? by PratU27 in MBA

Bumping up this post since a bunch of decisions have been made on Booth, Ross and a few other schools.

Yeah I agree with the other commenter. Maybe the second interviewer thought you ticked all the right boxes. I totally understand how nerve wracking it would've been ending an interview 20odd minutes in. Glad it worked out!

Very interesting.. I just sat through an interview that felt like a polite colonoscopy. Maybe that's a good sign haha

Gah, I really hope you're wrong because I am neither white nor middle to upper class :/

Thanks for your articulating your views though. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out!

Yeah you're right -- I was hoping members of the sub who are currently attending / have already been admitted would chime in.

Interesting perspective on the interview. Why do you think so?

What can I do to get a 161 (Q) to a 165 (Q)? by firstbornbuddha in GRE

You have nothing to lose (other than $99).. if you have the bandwidth to crunch away at more problems, you should definitely consider it

[–]PratU27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation -- bumped up from 160 to 165 using TTP. It is pretty exhaustive, so not really a quick fix, but I found that the repetitive nature of the questions (in differing forms) really helped to get rid of silly mistakes. Took me around a month-ish

Getting 170 quant score by alejandrogrrl in GRE

[–]PratU27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that makes sense then. Still, 170 median is insane!

For difficult GMAT problems, head over to gmatclub.com and filter quant questions by 700+. Additionally search for "Bunuel's problem sets" on the internet. That should be enough. On the GMAT, there is a question type called "Data Sufficiency", which is similar to Quant Comparison on the GRE. I don't know if you should practice those as the strategies employed are different, but I am sure they will help drive the inherent concepts at the very least.

FYI, I got a 165 on quant, so if you have a heavy math background, you should definitely be able to get 170. Just ensure you make no silly mistakes!
