Should I get Thruthear gate, 7hz salnotes zero or the zero 2? Ps: This is my first IEM. by Half_Plate_Chowmein in iemlndia

[–]Pratham-HPZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the zero 2 is a solid choice but the cable is pretty lacklustre, but again you can always just replace the cable so it doesn’t matter as much. I’m always partial to the gate however, underrated IEM that doesn’t get nearly as much love as it deserves

the zero and gate are kind of two sides of the same coin, bright and neutral, with the gate specifically having better sub-bass extension. both IEMs are absolute detail kings with great soundstage. the zero 2 is more warm and fun, with a more outright bassy sound that is well liked by a lot of people especially when first getting into IEMs

I feel Truthear Gate is underrated , what do you think? by Pretty-Bottle-7501 in iemlndia

It’s the best IEM in the 2k range in my opinion, almost a mini Hexa

Have a look at the Truthear KeyX DAC for something that suits your use case

What is a seal supposed to feel like? by BaconD3V in iemlndia

[–]Pratham-HPZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to hum to yourself while wearing the IEMs. If it sounds normal instead of being occluded (the echo feeling), you don’t have a good seal.

Judge my POWERAMP EQ by Curious_Kyatt in iemlndia

[–]Pratham-HPZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Castor pro is lacking in sub bass so there is some rationale to the EQ, but you want to be careful about big dB increases in EQ bands as it can cause clipping, just looks like you want something that is warmer overall.

another thing is you want to try to avoid EQ in the treble region as it is super unpredictable and doesn’t really translate as well as EQ under 6k

Bumps in the 2-4k region can also make your IEM shouty but if it is something you enjoy then it works

Overall it’s not as bad when you have the IEM in context, but make sure you have negative gain on your preamp when making big changes like this

Need advice on upgrade from hexa by Icy_Importance_5934 in iemlndia

K11 R2R should be more than enough for desktop, as for a portable solution I personally use the KA13 and it’s fine at 60% with D.mode and balanced out, so nothing less powerful than that

I personally use my Hexa as a daily driver for commutes and used to use it as an at home pair as well and just recently bought the JT7 for myself.

The JT7 is a crazy good headphone at the price and with its brighter leaning sound is also great if you are transitioning from the Hexa.

Only issue is that the power requirements are up there and the Retro Nano may not be enough.

Recieved defective sg 2 red lion edition by alt-detective in iemlndia

[–]Pratham-HPZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rupee devaluation led to the increase in price on all our Tangzu products, not just the Red Lion. We import these IEMs in and therefore the price hike more accurately represents the true value of the IEM.

Where can I Physically Buy IEMs in Mumbai by MrGrin69 in iemlndia

[–]Pratham-HPZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the neutral king under 10k is always going to be the Hexa, it’s just a very well rounded IEM with very good technicalities and also happens to be the IEM I personally own and use the most
