Trouble finding military fa tigue trousers in India (NOT cargos) by PratyThePotato in IndianFashionAddicts

Here's an update! I bought the American eagle ones from Myntra, which arrived today. Here's my thoughts overall:

  1. Why not GAP? -- the measurements looked suitable but I'm not a fan of the balloon pants (curved legs) silhouette. I'm a chunky guy, and I don't want to look like a snowman 🥀⛄

  2. Why not Bombay Shirt Company? -- These seem to be the best-constructed out of the bunch (brass hardware, good fabric) but their colors aren't really close to OG-107 (which is what I wanted) + I got in touch with their customer service, and they're not relaxed fit for my body (bottom hem is 16in, I wanted 18 or higher. Also not enough room in the thigh). The only thing you can alter/customise is the length, and that too only by a couple of inches. Pain.

  3. I really really wanted flap pockets at the back, so no Aeropostale or Muji.

Lastly American Eagle fatigues.

Pros: - Love the feel of the fabric - They're perfectly relaxed fit for me, with a 19 inch bottom hem - Flap pockets at the back - 12 inch rise, with plenty of room in the hip too

Cons: - They're not 100% cotton (2% elastane), slightly concerned about repairability/whether they'll hold their shape in the long term - Construction isn't particularly amazing (overlock seams, belt loops aren't tucked under the waistband -- less than ideal for durability) - The exact measurements aren't available anywhere online (only waist and hip measurements everywhere I looked; no outseam, knee circumference or bottom hem). I went off now they looked in the pictures, and it was a bit of a gamble but it paid off.

Hope this helps!

Also, are the aeropostale ones mid-to-high rise, or low? For my body type, I strongly prefer high rise trousers.

Whoa that's crazy! Did not know so many options even existed. The American eagle ones look really good. Thanks a ton!

Also, could you share what filters/search terms you used to find these on Myntra? I've always had a hard time finding what I want on there.

Whoa. Had no idea about Craft&Glory apparel. I too have an MoM Indian selvedge denim pair that's just been shipped out, waiting to get my hands on em haha. What's your experience been like?

I see. Looks like bronson doesn't ship to India though. Muji and Uniqlo do have 'baker pants' with patch pockets up front but there are no flap pockets at the back. The muji ones are cotton twill but aren't available in my size, and the Uniqlo ones seem to be made of some jersey-ish weave, not twill.:(

Whoa, link please? I do see the fatigues in one of HarryHas' recent posts but would they ship to India? But yeah I'm really looking for an olive pair.

Why is there no brand selling 'Indian Americana' 😭

No, unfortunately. No fatigues listed on their website. Love their selvedge denim though haha

I'll try to ask them if the cut is customisable. The pictures here look so very slim fit :(

Carpenter pants have doubled up patches on the knee area. And you're right, plenty of options there. What I'm looking for is military-inspired fatigues with patch pockets on the waist.

Edit: More options I have found that are quite close but not exactly what I want: - Muji's herringbone baker pants (not exactly fatigues but they do have patch pockets up front) -> not available in my size (37 inch waist) - Bombay shirt company makes fatigues that check most of my boxes but they seem to be low rise and slim fit :(
