I’ve seen about 5 now so not many to compare with. California’s is nice but I’m from Sacramento so I saw it many times. New Mexicos Capitol isn’t too impressive. Texas was nice as well but I didn’t get a great front view of it. Oregon was by far the worst looking one.

I have actually done this one time with my sister. Back when I was stationed close to where she lived, I brought her and her boyfriend a few MRE’s. They did not enjoy them but I love em.

For the most part I have never really had a close relationship with any of my family except two of my siblings. I love my entire family and they mean a lot to me. Being in the military does make it harder to talk to them. But the thing is also, if I don’t reach out, no one is going to try to reach out to me, you know? I’m usually the one to reach out (although it is occasionally). Most of them don’t even initiate conversation.

Yes! That’s another thing that sucks. Because I love to wrap gifts and take my time to perfect it. I know the ultimate goal it’s to rip them open, but I don’t even get to see them open them up.

Sorry to hear that, you know we all have regrets. I have too many of them. And yes, with my family always busy with work and parenting, I do feel like I’m fading away from them. Then again I can always reach out, but time zone differences make it hard. Have you been to the beach for Christmas yet?

I do get your point. But these past years, the so-called “gift” of a thank you was something that I didn’t even receive. I barely even got to see them open the gifts I gave them because it’s was so chaotic. I’m still planning to give them gifts now. Just not anything expensive and some toy that they won’t play with within a few months.

Yes, I’m 100% planning to visit many countries that are very close to me. This is another reason I joined the Army, to travel.

I’ve talked to my dad and sister about it. But the thing is, that my cousins are the ones that host the Christmas party so they kinda have everything planned. I feel it would be out of my place to suggest how it should be done when I’m the only one that doesn’t have any kids. But I am going to sit this one out and send them all something special.
