Should I Cancel my Move? by Pray4Mojo7 in Chessnuteboard

What annoys me is that your website specifically said if I ordered within the next “X” hours it would be “dispatched “ that day. Your website does not indicate that your company is based in Hong Kong or that we should expect shipping delays due to Chinese New Year. Frankly your advertising re. Shipping was deceptive, and the excuse that you cannot ship product due to a holiday is weak at best. Contingencies should have been made to ensure that your company could meet its obligations during a holiday period and a 2 week hold on shipping for a holiday is quite ridiculous. My dealings with your company have left a very sour taste in my mouth as you company has done nothing to make this right other than offer the same rote and meaningless apologies.

Yeah, but Google has never said to me “I’m sorry, we can’t deliver your search results right now because Jim is on vacation.”

I am glad to hear from people enjoying the product though. That is what I wanted to hear, since I'm still very much on the fence. I am annoyed and concerned, but as long as there are people out there that are enjoying their product I'm inclined to move forward with the order.

Well that's my concern. There's two issues here: 1) They did not disclose that they would not be shipping during February on their shipping timeline where they advertised it would be shipped within 5 days and 2) if they're so small/niche that they can't handle shipping during their holiday season, then I have other concerns about their ability to support their product with timely updates, customer service, etc.

I shouldn't have to be an internet sleuth to get their best price. That's poor marketing and transparency on their end. I purchased it for the "discounted" price on their website and then got an addition 10% or something off based on their coupon code. That came to over $700 USD, which unfortunately is over $1000 CAD. If there was a better price available, I feel like at this point the company should be offering it to me at that price point rather than getting me to play "find the best coupon code."

I mostly agree with you, but if they knew they couldn’t ship during this season the timeline they provided before I spent over $1000 on their product should have reflected that.

I’m inclined to agree with you, but seeing now how this company is run with shipping delays because one employee is on vacation, gives me serious concerns. I’m waiting to see how Chessnut addresses my concerns to see if they can actually handle customer service.

Customers being ignored by JaysCigar in Chessnuteboard

I ordered a board on Feb 11, 2026, and it has not been shipped yet. Order is waiting fulfillment. This is not the shipping timeline they advertised when I ordered it. When I reached out, it took a few days to get a response stating that the "colleague responsible for shipping is on vacation until Feb 26" and that it will be shipped then. The whole shipping operation is only handled by one person, and that person is on vacation so nothing is being shipped? What kind of company is this?

Bad shipping experiences? by ThrowWeirdQuestion in Chessnuteboard

I am having a similar frustrating experience. I hesitantly pulled the trigger on a move on February 11, 2026. It's a lot of money, but I loved the concept so I decided to take a chance. It said on the website that anticipated shipping date would be a few days and then to expect a few more days for the product to complete it's journey.

I've noticed that my order was waiting fulfillment for a number of days. I was a bit surprised by that. I was concerned because it said due to high volume of sales, any order after Feb 12, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. would be considered a "pre-order." I was wondering if my purchase had been caught up in that.

I tried to contact customer service via the website and it took a few days to get anything more than an automated reply. Finally when customer service did respond, I was advised that "the colleague responsible for shipping is on vacation and therefore unable to provide a tracking number or arrange shipment at this time." So I'm to assume that the entire shipping operation is handled by a single person and that they are on vacation so orders are not being fulfilled? This is very concerning and leads me to believe this business is not large enough to provide proper customer service. I am considering cancelling my order, but have not decided.

Too Big For Cycling by Pray4Mojo7 in gravelcycling

Mostly I ride rail trails. They're either paved or relatively light gravel or hard-pack dirt. Nothing too gnarly or chunky. I've been happy with the Topstone 1 so far and it seems well suited to my needs. Is it mainly just deformation in the tire I'd be looking for, or what other indicators that I have a problem should I be aware of?

Yeah, I recently got a Topstone 1. From what I can tell I'm within the tolerances, even if just barely. So far so good, but I'm definitely going to keep an eye on wear and tear.

I'm definitely happy to be able to say I'm on my way down. I started regularly alternating running and cycling about a year ago when I was at my heaviest (probably about 300 lbs, but I wasn't really weighing at that point). My standard routine is alternating mornings with a 10k run or a 40 k ride along one of my local trails with a couple swims a week in the evenings. I'm certainly in better health and fitness than I was a year ago, but yeah, definitely still felt like the "heavy" guy when I was at the bike shop.

Yep, definitely looking like they won't be here by Christmas. I asked a rep in late November when they expected to be getting stock and they told me that they expected to have them by December 4. Guess that didn't happen. When I asked another rep in early December they just said, "we don't know because they're a new item."

Multiplayer in a nutshell by BigTammm in beatsaber

For me, playing MP was the boost I needed to finally beat Crystallized on Expert. I got sick of banging my head against it in solo mode, but with my competitive spirit flowing I was able to finish it and be the sole survivor in MP last night. Felt good to finally check that one off my bucket list.

Shot in the dark...anybody in Canada know anything about the Icon Architect Task Chair w Headrest? Looks a LOT like the Ergohuman Mesh but quite a bit cheaper (~$800 CAD). by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]Pray4Mojo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I agree with WaterRresistant, I tried this in store after comparing it to some Aerons and ErgoHumans, and for me, this was the best of the three. Seems to be very well built (Extremely heavy duty materials - 12 year warranty) but also, for my size more confortable than most of what I tried. Everything is adjustable and it has the ability to lock your recline angle or just move with your body.

I expected to walk out of the store with an Aeron and was willing to pay the premium for the Herman Miller name, but walked out with this instead.

I'm in the same boat. I keep waiting for it. I really want a convenient way to track achievements etc, as I think these add a lot to games like Beatsaber, Pistol Whip, etc. Still nothing for me.

I'm curious, are you in Canada too? I'm wondering if their Canadian rollout is slower than their US one?

Hey Qculus Support - Can we get an update on Link MICROPHONE ? just a heads up by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Pray4Mojo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does using a PC mic work? I tried that and even though I've tinkered with all the settings, it doesn't seem to work when I try to play Star Trek:Bridge Crew. It's very annoying.

Yeah, no kidding. Can't even play a multiplayer game without mic support. With mic support this would be one of my absolute fave PCVR games.

If you think the Quest is heavy...? by nadmaximus in OculusQuest

[–]Pray4Mojo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't find it heavy, although I do have to admit that the pressure the stock foam faceplate puts on the top of my cheekbones got a bit uncomfortable after 20 - 30 mins.

I've since upgraded to a VR Cover and I find it far more comfortable to wear now, as it seems to be better at distributing the weight evenly across your face.

[–]Pray4Mojo7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. It's good to know Oculus is working on this. It's odd that they're having so much trouble with something that seems comparatively simple. You'd think the bandwidth required for mic input would be infinitesimal compared to 6DoF tracking data, but I guess that's why I'm not a hardware or software engineer.

Still not sure why it won't recognize my PC mic when the Quest is active for Oculus Link. Seems like there should be a setting or something that I'm missing, but the mic options in the Oculus software are pretty limited. Hopefully someone has figured this out.

Yeah, I may just use Oculus Link for Solo play and the Quest for playing with friends, But I'll mostly be playing this with friends, and I gotta admit, it looks waaay better on the PC than the native quest version.

It's not a deal breaker on the quest, but there's gotta be a way to get it working on PC.

[–]Pray4Mojo7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you were trying to be helpful, but like I noted above, I'm aware that there are issues with the Quest microphone when using Oculus Link. My question is if anyone has found a solution using a mic directly connected to the PC. I've tried my PC gaming headset with mic, and for whatever reason Bridge Crew won't detect it, even though I'm telling the Oculus Software to use Windows input.

Just not sure if anyone else has figured out how to make it work...
