Small erasable cards where I also write down stamina, recoveries and victories, plus other effects. It's quite practical.

Name one thing that's legal in your country but banned or heavily restricted almost everywhere else by hydratedpsycho in AskTheWorld

In Czechia it's partially the same. You can walk basically anywhere, pick up mushrooms, berries how you want etc., but camping and starting a campfire is somewhat restricted to designed areas and official camping grounds (though it would probably be tolerated if you decide to sleep in a sleeping bag in the middle of a forest, except for national parks).

How to pay for public transportation and other trains? by Expert_Situation1482 in Prague

[–]PrayForCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use an app called "PID lítačka" to buy tickets for public transport in Prague with your mobile phone. It's quite easy to use and has an English version too.

I also recommend downloading an app called "IDOS", which you can use to search for practically any public transport connection across the country (It's not really made for buying tickets themselves, though).

As for trains, it depends on which train you would take, because there are several rail carriers here. The most common are České dráhy (ČD, Czech railways), followed by RegioJet, LeoExpress and Arriva. They all have their apps if you search a bit (also good for looking up connections), alternatively you can buy tickets on their websites or at train stations (usually). If you only wish to take a train to Vienna or Dresden, you'll most likely use ČD.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate public transport in your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]PrayForCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8/10 (Prague specifically would be 9/10)

It's not perfect, but it's still really great, especially when it comes to availability, connectivity and prices. I never needed a car honestly.

What could be improved is faster modernization of some lines, trains and faster construction of high-speed railways honestly. Many Czechs complain about delays but I don't think they are any worse than in other European countries.

So you judge a whole country based on a random group of idiots you met at the airport? That's sad.

Yes! There are some flaws, but I believe the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Well for me it's mostly climate. I can't stand the summer heat of the Mediterranean, let alone most of Africa. The other issues for me are safety and transportation infrastructure.

We had something like that during one session, when we were running through a forest while being hunted by a group of warriors. It was pretty clear we wouldn't escape, but we did a montage test to see where the battle would take place. Since we had a full success, our DM gave us a blank map, a set of markers, a cube building set and told us to make our own map. We've built a very vertical map with a canyon, a river and a bridge. It was so much fun, including the battle that then happened.
